as louis drives the car, we sat in a comfortable silence. we all spend summer together. every possible second, but its different this time. i ask olivia to put my shopping bag into the suitcase next to her and she does. we reach the airport and i take out the suitcases with louis's help. i shut the trunk. i look up and see olivia looking at me with tears in her eyes. louis who also has tears stares at the floor.
"guys" i whisper. i can't speak. my tears hold me back.
"i'll be okay. its only a matter of a few weeks. lou you will be there and olivia, i promise i'll call you whenever i can. you can also call me. you know that!" i say with tears running down my face.
olivia walks to me and hugs me. a tight but comfortable hug. she sniffles and so do i. she pulls away and passes me a little box. i wipe my tears.
"when you reach, open it and call me" she tell me.
i look at the box in my hand and back at her. tears continue falling down our faces. i smile and nod. i wipe my eyes one more time and tell myself to stop crying. she goes back to stand where she was orginally and louis comes to me.
"ill miss you" he says in a quiet and gentle voice.
"i'll miss you too but you will be there and you can facetime whenever!"
i hug him tightly and he does the same, we pull away and our faces are incredibly close. he leans in but olivia shouts,
"lula you're late!"
i don't think she noticed since she normally wants me and louis to get together. i see louis's cheeks flushed a bright red colour. i smile and say,
"goodbye, i love you guys. call me or text me and don't forget me!" i say the last bit as a joke.
they bid their goodbyes with me and i go inside. i don't look back. i know for sure olivia is crying i saw tears escape her eyes as we said our goodbyes. i don't wanna hurt them. my eyes were tears but i manage to keep the tears in.
