What falling in love feels like - jake25.17

"seungcheol, it has been such a pleasure to work together with you for the past few days. i am sincerely looking forward to our next gathering." the elvish king spoke as darkness had dawned upon the kingdom of adora.
"oh my dear friend, the pleasure has been all mine." seungcheol lied, shaking the king's hand. though the company of the elves had brought a lot more life within the walls of the lonely castle, he had barely gotten any rest in the past two days.
the hour was late, meaning seungcheol could finally head to the west wing for his nightly rest. or better said, to pay a visit to the runaway prince who was most likely in his guest room.
"before i forget to mention it, in two days i have arranged the yearly ball of adora. you and your folk are more than welcome." seungcheol offered politely as everyone started abandoning the oaken table. "i have sent the invitations a week ago, but since you are here now i rather ask you to come myself."
"that's a really polite gesture of you seungcheol, me and my company would love to attend the night. would it be of any problem if we stay here for two more days? it would be hardly possible to travel home in the meanwhile. i can let someone from the seventa woods send us our garment."
seungcheol nodded, walking by the elvish king's side to the large doors of the meeting hall. "that would be absolutely no problem, the castle offers more than enough space for you and your folk to stay." seungcheol explained, stopping in his tracks now both had to part sides to head to their separate wings.
"i really appreciate that seungcheol, your parents would be proud of you." the elvish king bowed and spoke a quick goodbye before the two split ways, leaving seungcheol with a slight lump rising up in his throat.
the lonely king still tend to find it hard to comprehend what had happened to his parents on the battlefield that day. where they had died right in front of his eyes, abandoning their son for good. though the days that followed up had been filled with celebration for the new king, he could hardly bare the grief of his parents loss.
especially now the elvish king spoke to him in such fatherly manner, seungcheol still found hardships. and in his upset state, seungcheol unconsciously walked past his own bedroom. even when jeonghan had been on his mind all day, following the path that led to his room felt so natural.
the knock on the wooden door was scarcely even heard as the king allowed himself inside the humungous bedroom. with the west wing being the only royal wing throughout the whole castle, it also only contained large rooms with high ceilings and marble floors. the mirror with golden details engraved in its frame gave seungcheol the welcoming view of his own posture.
a candle as the only source of light shone upon the angelic figure of jeonghan who lay partly hidden underneath the silk duvets, the blanket sliding off dangerously low as his entire milky white chest up until his exposed belly button was visible. a sight that seungcheol endeared and made him giggle silently.
so without further hesitation he got undressed himself as well, discarding everything but the piece of clothing that covered his abdomen. he reached for the shiny silver blankets on the other side of the luxury bed and lowered himself on the mattress. without further hesitation he increased the proximity between them, covering jeonghan's chest with the blanket.
careful to not wake the younger, he placed a hand on his tummy and pressed his chest against jeonghan's exposed back. the direct skin to skin contact brought a homelike feeling of safety to seungcheol, who couldn't do anything else beside clamping himself onto jeonghan.
and even with jeonghan being a deep sleeper, he had noticed seungcheol's presence right away. it was when the king behind him had gotten comfortable when he grabbed a hold of his slightly muscular arms that were wrapped around him.
"my apologies. i didn't mean to wake you up, my prince." though jeonghan hated to be reminded of his range, the way seungcheol said it so sincerely had butterflies roaming through his stomach.
"if it's you waking me up, i think i might be able to handle it." jeonghan giggled, not waiting any longer to turn around in the king his arm. those beautiful shaped arms with muscles running through them that secured him from all the harm his own kingdom and father had brought him. but most of all, that loved him in a way he had never been loved before.
jeonghan's glorious brown hair spread out over the pillow he shared with seungcheol as their noses fairly brushed against each other. and all they could do was stare into one's eyes in the bare light of the candle.
"how was your consult?" jeonghan asked, his fingers trailing upwards over seungcheol's bare skin, entangling them with his raven hair once he reached his head.
"tiring, as usual. but we're finally done and all strategies and other important trades have been arranged. how has your day been, have you eaten enough?" seungcheol worriedly asked the male beside him, knowing how naive he always used to be.
"i have spend majority of my time in my room, i couldn't find jisoo so i assumed he already made friends in the castle.. but i did eat this time, a friendly maid offered me to join her to the eating hall for servants and they were actually really polite." jeonghan explained his daily activities, which hadn't been exactly much.
"then what if we eat together tomorrow?" seungcheol purposely leaned in a little closer, brushing his nose over jeonghan's which caused the younger to giggle.
"stop! that tickles." yet still jeonghan remained in the same position, his eyes never leaving the king's. "but what about the elves?"
"what about them?" seungcheol playfully answered, confidently adding a wink. "they're staying in the castle, yes. but they have their own separate wing. i'll let junhui bring them meals and in the meanwhile, i'll set up a room for ourselves. just the two of us, what would you say?"
"oh please.. you're so romantic." jeonghan giggled again, purposely moving in another inch closer. "but i would love to."
a silence dawned upon them, creating slight tension regarding the distance that they both desperately wanted to close. it was only a matter of time before one of them would be courageous enough to do so. and that was seungcheol.
because out of nowhere the boy grabbed a tight hold of jeonghan's neck and forcefully pressed their lips together. it was both their first kiss, yet their inexperience was barely even noticeable. smooth lips moving in unison with seungcheol guiding them both, hands grasping for everything they could reach just to get closer to one another.
and it was so beautiful. while seungcheol adored every single inch of the man in his arms, the runaway prince worshiped adora's king, who now kissed him so passionately.
because maybe jeonghan wasn't the only one who found a home inside the walls of adora; seungcheol had found a home in jeonghan's presence.
