- Julie's POV-

what in the world is happening?

First, the guy I lo- like.... HA!

is dating a literal psycho and he likes it? I don't know why but okay.

Second, I had to turn a bunch of gigs down.

Third, Luke now knows I am not dating Nick.

And now this guy-

what's his name again?

Julie: Wait, what's your name again??

I whisper in his ear.

Austin: Oh, it's Austin.

He says with a flirtatious wink

ew.

wait-

how can he see the guys??

Julie: Um sorry, are you a ghost?

Luke lets out a small annoyed grunt noise thing.

Austin: Wowza! So many questions. Yep, I am.

hmmmm

Something seems different.

I back up a bit to get a good look at him.

I look over my shoulder and see Luke setting up his guitar, checking his watch, and then rolling his eyes.

I focus my eyes back on Austin, but then I notice something on his ankle-

------Flashback---------

I was a scared and alone little girl, just playing with her dolls. Suddenly, a blonde-headed little boy comes and runs up to me.

"Hiya! I'm Austin! What's your name??" the little boy asks. " Julie..." I say cautiously, after all cooties were everywhere around that boy. " I like that name! I mean since I like your name, will you be my girlfriend??" He asks giving me a toy car. " Sorry Austin, but we are only dis many!" I say holding up six fingers.

He looks down at his shoes, then back up to me. " Okay then! Let's be best friends!!" He says with a small smile. " Yup!" I say getting up and interlocking our little fingers together before heading to the playground.

I gave him a anklet a few years later.

He was my first ever friend.

That little boy, Austin Tyler Smith is now grown up and standing right in front of me.

Julie: wait, who was your best friend in kindergarten??

Austin: I don't remember. It was some girl named Julia or Julie- WAIT
