"What's wrong? Why'd we get kicked out?" I asked crouching down next to her. She ran into one of the stalls and started puking. I ran in after her and held her hair.
When she finally stopped she got up went to the sink and cleaned herself up, all the while ignoring me. She turned to me and sat down on the floor holding her knees crying and gasping for air. "We. Got. Kicked. Out. Because. You. Said. That. Out. Loud. And. He. Was. Annoyed. With. Me." She said gasping for air in between each word.
"Ok, ok, calm down. Breathe with me." I said as calm as possible. "Breath in through your nose. Now I want you to hold your breath. Now slowly let it out." I repeated this until she calmed down.
"Th-th-th-thank you." She managed to stutter. "Why are you helping me?" She asked obviously still freaked out.
"Because panic attacks SUCK." I said dragging out the u in suck, while scowling and sucking in my breath. She kind of smiled. I stuck my tongue out trying to make her laugh and she actually smiled. "Yeah I get panic attacks too. I'm guessing you've been here for a while?" I questioned.
"Yeah I've been 2 weeks I think. I dont know." She looked very confused.
"What do you mean you don't know." I asked puzzled.
"You lose track of time in here. It's so boring I have to make some things fun." She said looking at me. "Group therapy is the MOST BORING THING EVER." She rolled her eyes. "Oh shit I totally forgot we need to go!" She exclaimed standing up wide eyed and grabbed my wrist dragging my out of the bathroom running down the hall.
I awkwardly ran behind her and tried to wiggle my way out of her wrist, but her grip was too strong. "Where are we going?" I cried
"You'll see." Was all she said. Finally she stopped running and let go of my wrist. We were standing in front of a white board with a lot of different names and what looked like a schedule. "Awesome I only have therapy after this!" She looked down the list again. "Where is your name?" She looked puzzled. "Is it really your first day?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Yep." I said popping the p.
Suddenly a bell rang. "Oh yay time for dinner! I'm starving!" She walked away and I followed. The cafeteria looked like a school cafeteria there was a line of people waiting for food carrying a tray.
All of the food looked disgusting. "Maybe this is a school cafeteria." I muttered under my breath.
"What?" Kate asked.
"Nothing." I quickly responded. When Kate and I went to sit down I realized everyone was staring at us. "Are they staring at us?" I leaned into Kate whispering.
"Yeah it's because of what you said back in group. Word travels fast around here." She whispered back.
We sat down at an empty table. Soon I was greeted by Max and another guy. "Oi, this is my roommate John." He said in his Australian accent. "Who's that?" He asked gesturing towards Kate.
"Oh this is my new friend Kate." I explained
"'Ave you been assigned a room yet?" He asked with hopeful eyes.
"You mean the room I was in this morning wasn't my room?" I raised an eyebrow. "Then why'd I wake up there."
"That's the room everyone starts in." He said like it was obvious.
"Oh" was all I said and my facial expression dropped.
"You haven't been assigned a room yet?" Kate gasped. "I'm in room 16."
"Oi I'm right across from there!" Exclaimed Max. "Room 17"
I had just realized they were still standing. "Sit, sit" I said. They sat down across from us. The rest of dinner was spent with small talk and explained what band had gotten us here. For me it was Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce the Veil, and All Time Low. Max was the same as me. For Kate it was Sleeping With Sirens, and Mayday Parade. When John started to speak it almost looked like Kate wanted to smack him. He said Falling in Reverse, All Time Low, and Sleeping With Sirens.
