I Looked Across and Fell In Love

Chapter 2

[Taylor's POV]

   I jump in my car and drive over to see Ed. I feel really bad for him, really I do. But ever since the RED tour I thought maybe, just maybe we'd end up together... more than friends. But then he got together with Athina so I pushed my thoughts away. I didn't want to be the girl who had a secret crush on her best friend who had a girlfriend. I pull into the drive of Ed's house and walk up to the door. I begin to knock but he opens it before I could. He must've heard me pull up.  Neither of us say anything, only pull each other in a long , silent embrace. Eventually he pulls away first. I don't know if I was ready to pull away just yet but I do anyway. We still dont say anything.  I'm waiting for him to talk. To just pour his heart out to me. I have done it countless times to him, so it was only fair.  We walk to his sofa and sit down. He suddenly breaks down in tears.  Head in his hands. I try to comfort him, rubbing his back. After a few minutes he calms down.

     "I'm sorry." He says

       "Hey.... it's ok," I reply

      He shoots up off the couch and takes a deep breath. "This is silly. Lets do something, I need to get my mind off of this whole thing. Do you wanna go out?"

         "Where would you like to go?" I ask slowly standing up and facing him, my face only a few inches from his.

         "I know the perfect place..." he says with a sly smile. He takes my hand and leads me to the door.

      Once outside he trys to get a cab. It takes a minute but we get one. We pile into the back. 

      "Where to?" The driver asks. Ed leans him and tells him the destination.  The driver nods and punches something in on his GPS. I cant quite make it out. Ed sits back and the driver pulls away from the curb. We sit in a comfortable silence for a while.
