I Looked Across and Fell In Love

Chapter 1

[Ed's POV]

My phone vibrates on the table next to me, I pick it up to see Athina was calling.

"Hello, love," I say, grinning ear to ear. I have been so busy with tour that we haven't talked much.

"Hey, Ed," I could hear the sadness jn her voice. I was very worried, she was always so happy.

"What's wrong?" I ask

"Im sorry...." she says with a sigh, "I have to break up with you, Ed. Its just too hard for me to have you gone so much. Im sorry."

"What if you came on tour with me?" I ask, the pain in my voice.

"I can't do that, I'm sorry but we just can't fix this....goodbye" she says. I dont say anything and then I hear a click. "She's gone" I think to myself, unsure how I feel. Sit in silence for a while, not moving an inch until suddenly I break down in tears. I never would have thought she'd break up with me. And NEVER did I think it woud be over the phone. Now I know how I'm feeling: anger. I get up and start yelling about how selfish it was of Athina to break up over the phone. Then I just scream, and break things, and throw things, and hit things, and basically my house is a damn mess.

After calming down a bit and a few drinks, I call the only person I know who could understand what I am going through, who has gone through this too many times herself. I call Taylor.

The phone rings a few times before Taylor picks up.

"Hello?" She answers

"Hey, Taylor," I say shakily, still calming down from my angry rampage and still buzzing from the alcohol.

"Ed, are you okay?" She asks, ahe already knows the answer but is waiting for me to tell her anyway.

"No.... Athina broke up with me," I say, tears streaming down my face once again, much quieter than before.

"No... did she say why?" She asks, I can hear in her voice that she feels terrible and I feel a lot better.

"When she called she said-"

"SHE BROKE UP WITH YOU ON THE PHONE?!" Taylor interrupts, but I don't mind.

"Yeah..."

"I'm sorry to interrupt, continue."

"She said it was too hard for her to be with me because I'm gone so much."

"Do you want me to come over?" She asks calmly and sweetly.

"No, you dont have to do that..." I slowly trail off. I did want her to come but I didn't want her make her think I needed her to. Or that she had to.

"Nope. I am. See you in a bit" click
