You and an auburn-haired young boy were playing together, this was a normal occurrence for the both of you. you both had been friends since you were younger. in the fields, the two of you ran, giggling was followed by the sound of your body collapsing on the grass, your giggles died down as you let out a sigh and a few more little chuckles.

you take in a deep breath, laying on the ground you hear someone else sit down next to you. you turn your head to see the same redhead sitting next to you, looking into the sky. you sit up looking into the sky as well. the wispy alabaster clouds mixed with the lilac and coral sky. it was beautiful, yet it was a sign the two of you had to part ways for the day. 

you looked over to him, he looked back.
"Hey, Diluc"
he blinked a few times before leaning back a bit, letting his arms support him on the ground below him.
"whats up [y/n]?"

you smiled and brought up your knees to your chest, holding them close.
"have you ever heard the story of Icarus and Daedalus?"
he turned his head to the side, then shook his head no.
"I've never heard of that"

you had a cheeky smile as you leaned back and forth towards him.
"well... would you like to hear it?"

he nodded as you let go of your knees and let your legs stretch out.

"Icarus was the son of Daedalus, the master craftsman, and the creator of the Labyrinth. Daedalus and Icarus had tried to escape the Crete by flying out with wings that Daedalus crafted from wax.

Daedalus had warned Icarus to not fly too close to the sun nor sea, the sun would melt the wings and the sea's dampness would clog the wings. 

Icarus ignored these instructions, ignoring his father he flew close to the sun, getting closer and closer. the wings slowly started to melt, the wax dripping down, by the time Icarus noticed it. it was too late."

you were cut off by a gasp, you laughed as Diluc looked at you, his eyes widened a bit. 
"What happened to him?"
he leaned closer to you, he was obviously interested in the story, you couldn't help but smile.

"well, Icarus fell from the sky. tumbling down the sky he fell in the sea where he drowned."
you snickered at his reaction, his shoulders dropped as he gave you a pout of disappointment.
"where did you even hear that story?"

"I read it from one of the storybooks in the library"
you looked into his eyes, the carmine shaded gems matched perfectly with his equally red locks. they flickered in the drowning sun. the lighting bouncing off them making them glisten, he stood up abruptly and faced you. reaching his hand towards you, you look up to his face as he closes his eyes and smiles, happiness was beaming off of him as you grabbed his hand he pulled you up.
