I was running as fast as I could while at being as injured as I was. My shoulder was dislocated, blood was pouring from a deep cut on the side of my head and a very deep cut in my thigh. But I couldn't stop running, if I did then it would catch me. So I force my body to go faster. Leaping over fallen logs and trees, jumping over bushes and dodging around trees.

It dark out, with only the moon offering any kind of light to see even with my eyes glowing their Alpha red I couldn't see clearly. Looking back quickly, I see nothing behind me, making me skid to a stop as my eyes dart around rapidly.

A twig snaps to my left and my head snaps in that direction only for something to slam into my body from behind, knocking all the air from my lungs and I go flying forwards coughing. My body rolls a few times before finally coming to a stop. I can feel something sharp digging into my back as I blearily look up, unable to even lift my head up and only hearing footsteps approaching from my right.

A shadow looms over me wearing all black but when I look at their face my eyes go wide in horror. The skin was a sickly white colour with claw marks covering their face. They had no hair and their mouth seemed to be in a continuous smear due to their lack of lips. Distantly I wondered who they were but the only thing that registered in that moment was the long dagger in their hand that was still dripping with my blood.

"What do you want?" I ask weakly after several attempts. They chuckle cruelly before crouching down and caressing my face with just as pale hands. I try and jerk my head away from her grip but she forcefully grabs it, making me face her.

"I want him to feel the same pain I did. I want him to suffer the loss of the one he loves. Unfortunately for you...that just so happens to be you." She said before stabbing me with the dagger, just below my heart. I gasp, eyes wide and blood dribbling down my chin as I watch red slowly creep into my shirt. Warm liquid surrounds my chest and I can feel it start to flow down my sides and onto the ground around me. Breathing is hard and I choke as she yanks it out and grins evilly before disappearing. Dark spots start to invade my vision and I vaguely wonder if I was really going to die alone in the woods like the rest of my family.

(Deucalion's POV)
The first thing I'm aware of is something sharp digging into my forearm along with a warm wetness that has me frowning. Groggily, I register the wetness as blood. My eyes snap open and I immediately switch them to my Alpha eyes in order to see. Blood stained the whole bed and my mouth opened in horror when I saw Lupa thrashing around with a deep cut on her head and thigh as well as her shoulder being bent at an odd angle. I quickly look at my hands and sigh in slight relief when I realise that I hadn't been the cause of this.

I would never be able to forgive myself if I hurt her. Being with her makes me feel like the man I used to be, like I could be him again and get rid of the darkness that has plagued me for so long. We may have only met a short while ago but already we have a deep connection and bond that is stronger than anything I've ever felt with anyone else before.

Moving her ripped clothes to the side to assess her wounds I notice they aren't healing making me frown in confusion. They're deep but she's a powerful Alpha, they should at the very least be starting to heal. Her breathing increase and I gently shake her in an attempt to wake her up from the dream she's having. Nothing works however, and she starts to thrash around in my grip.

"Kali! Ennis!" I yell and hear them both immediately run out of their room and to mine.

"What's wr-" Kali starts to ask before she fully takes in the scene and both hers and Ennis's eyes widen in shock. "What the hell happened?!"
