Hey guys!! I've decided to re-write this story.
BTW THIS IS THE DINNER WHEN THEY CAME BACK AFTER THEIR QUEST, SO ZÖE AND BIANCA ARE DEAD BUT THEY HAVEN'T TOLD NICO
-ercy!"
Percy shook his head, trying to find the source of the voice that kept talking. Finally, he saw a ten year old Nico Diangelo, jumping excitedly as he held his Mythomagic cards, trying not to show him the fronts. He felt a pang in his chest, knowing that after dinner he would have to crush his excitement. Nico hadn't picked through the lie they had told him, that Bianca was doing something for Lady Artemis and couldn't come that night, but Percy knew it was only a matter of time before he realized she would never be coming back.
"It's your turn!" he said, motioning to the cards Percy had haphazardly thrown face down on the table.
Percy sent a look to Annabeth, eating at the Athena table, and mentally shouted 9-1-1!
She just smiled and shook her head. He stuck her tongue out at her, and she gave him a gesture he was glad Nico didn't see.
He turned back to Nico, about to say something when he noticed Chiron standing in the middle of the pavilion, clearing his throat. Furrowing his eyebrows, Percy looked at Annabeth, who also looked confused.
"Children, please calm down. Now, this might come as a shock, but a message has appeared on my desk, and..."
"What do you mean, appeared?" asked one of Annabeths sisters.
"Well, it just kind of appeared out of thin air..."
"What?" shouted an Ares kid.
"It was sent by the fates."
Everyone started shouting at once. Nico turned to Percy.
"What is a fates?"
Ignoring the ten year old, Percy watched as Chiron tried to quiet everyone down. Finally giving up, Chiron turned to him, a look of surrender on his face. Blushing, Percy knew what he meant.
Percy was VERY proud of his New York heritage, and had some of the defining qualities Chiron used every once in a while. Brining his fingers up to his mouth, Percy made a whistle that could compete with one of the Apollo kids. Annabeth, Grover, and Chiron, knowing what was coming, covered their ears.
After a few screams, everyone fell silent, turning to him with wide eyes. He felt his face flush, and as his eyes scanned the crowd his gaze fell on Annabeth, who just smiled and gave him a thumbs up.
"Umm," he muttered. "Please pay attention to Chiron."
Everyone turned to the centaur, with the small mutter of "Wimp" from Clarisse.
"That was so cool!" whispered Nico. "Can you teach me how to do that?" he asked.
"Maybe later, sure." muttered Percy.
"The message was sent by the fates, apparently they want to show us the possibilities of the future. When it is over, they will wipe your memories, but leave me with mine, so I can be able to prepare more for the future, and be able to detect patterns in history." said Chiron. Everyone fell completely silent, no one daring to breathe.
"So..." said Annabeth, frowning. "What are they going to do?"
Chiron pulled a note from the pocket of his shirt, reading it silently before looking up.
"They are going to send people from the future to come back and talk with us. More specifically, they are going to send back heroes from the future to tell us about their adventures and how they affect us."
"I'm sorry WHAT?!" shouted an Apollo kid, Will Solace he was pretty sure.
"Who are they sending back?" asked Silena.
Chiron looked at the note again.
"Connor Stoll, Travis Stoll, Katie Gardner, Miranda Gardiner, Will Solace, Malcome Pace, Piper Mclean, Jason Grace, Thalia Grace, Hazel Levesque, Nico Diangelo, Frank Zhang, Clarisse La rue, Chris Rodriguez, Leo Valdez, Annabeth Chase, and Percy Jackson. They might send more along the way."
The respective cabins cheered when they heard their siblings names, but Percy froze when he heard Nico's name. He didn't want the kid having to fight and go on quests, he already felt like an older brother to him and was really worried about his safety.
He looked over at Annabeth, who was staring at him wide eyed. We're heroes! she mouthed, grinning at him. Smiling back, he started to wonder why he was being sent back. Sure, he had done some cool-ish stuff, but he could have never done it without Annabeth or any of his other friends. Hell, on his most recent quest he had gotten two of his friends killed! He should've gone into the defective robot, not Bianca, and he should've gone in front of Ladon, not Zöe. He was a failure, not a hero.
"When are they coming?" asked Katie, still smiling after hearing her name. Percy noticed Travis staring at her, an airy sort of smile on his face as she smiled.
"I'm not sure." Chiron replied, frowning as he examined the note. "That's all it says."
Suddenly, a bright flash filled the pavilion, and out popped a demigod, wrestling a Hellhound.
