harry's pov

it's june 26th and i'm already bored. i finished my a-levels yesterday and i've never been more relieved. i get extremely anxious and stressed for exams and similar situations and it's safe to say i'm not touching another book until university starts.

the sun seeping through my curtains is what woke me up. if it were up to me i'd still be asleep and making the most of the holidays, but i guess i got the whole summer for that.

i rolled over to the other side of my bed and grabbed my phone. the time read 10:16am so not too early i guess. i quickly checked my notifications, nothing major just a few messages from friends talking about "the greatest summer of our lives" as niall said.

moving out of bed, i quickly threw on some sweats but left my torso bare. i made my way downstairs and into the kitchen where the smell of bacon became overpowering.

"hiya honey" my mum, anne, says as she turns from the stove briefly. i go over and give her a quick kiss on the cheek. it's just been me and her in the house for the past two years as my sister, gemma, has been at uni.

"morning mum, this smells delicious" i say as i sit down at the kitchen table.

"thanks, love. gotta celebrate the end of your exams in style" she chuckles. i just hum in reply, still not completely awake.

"so, you know how sarah moved into a care home a couple of months ago?" my mum asks but continues before i get the chance to reply. "well news is on the street that the new neighbours are moving in in two days."

"oh that's cool, i wonder what they're like" i think aloud. i'm hoping for a kid around my age to be honest. it's not that i have no friends don't get me wrong. i have niall and liam, my other close friend, but some fresh faces would be nice.

me and mum ate our breakfast with a bit of small talk here and there when she got up to get ready for work. i cleaned the dishes from the table and placed them in the dishwasher when my phone buzzed.

ni 🥔: hazzzzzzzzzzzz
ni 🥔: i'm bored

haz 🥸: lol
haz 🥸: what do you want me to do about it?

ni 🥔: idk

haz 🥸: -_-
haz 🥸: i've got new neighbours coming soon :)

ni 🥔: ooooooh is hazza gonna get some 😼

haz 🥸: omg niall pahahahah why would you think that ??!!

ni 🥔: who knows your new neighbour could be super hot

haz 🥸: haha you wish

i also wish to be fair, i just didn't want to give niall the satisfaction of being right. i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

hi again :) i thought i might as well update now as i've got the idea in my head aha. i know no one is reading this but it's fun to write and a girl can imagine. sorry for the shorter chapter, they'll probs be longer once the story gets going.
