AFTER i have you back

Chapter one Tessa's POV

»Good night Tessa«, Sybil smiles and gives me a hug. She is my work colleague. We both had been working from 7pm until now. We have 1am. My legs are hurting and I am so tired. And it takes me almost 30 minutes to get home. Landon wanted to pick me up but I told him Sybil would drive me. A little lie but it is really okay. New York is beautiful at night. Even if I am scared because there are so many creepy mens on my way at home.

»Hey sexy!«, someone shouted but I go faster. Only five minutes and then I am home.

I open the door and go in. Everything is dark. Of course, it is almost 2am. Nora and Landon are probably sleeping or the watch TV. Or they do....couple things. Okay, I should go to sleep. I take off my clothes and go to bed. After a few minutes I am falling asleep.

I wake up as I hear someone talking. I think it's Landon. But I can't hear Nora. Maybe he calls someone. I decide to get up and get fresh clothes from the closet. I really need to shower.

»Really? Wow. I'm happy for him. But he hasn't phoned me or wrote me a message. Maybe it's because of Tess- Tessa! Good morning!«

»Good morning. Who is this?«, I ask him.

»My Mom.«

I nod and smile. »Say her I said hi. I'm going to shower.«

He nods and talks again with Karen. What were they talking about? I heard my name. So maybe they talked about....him.

I sigh and take my clothes off. I get into the shower and sigh again, because the warm water fells so good on my skin.

After thirty minutes I am dressed and I'm standing in the kitchen and make breakfast. I hear that the door goes open and Nora comes in with a smile.

»Hey«, she smiles.

»Hi«, I smile back and hug her. »I make breakfast. Did you eat something?«

»No, I haven't.«

»Good. Do you want coffee?«

»Tessa, calm down«, she laughs. »I will make me coffee.«

After I ate something I go shopping. I need a new jeans. I am on my way to the door as someone calls me.

»Hello?«

»Hey, Tessa.«

»Oh, hey Isaac. What's up?«

»I need to buy some food. But I don't want to go alone and Amy isn't at home. Do you have time?«

»Sure. I wanted to go shopping anyways.«

»Great. I order a taxi-«

»No. I'll pick you up. I ask Landon if I can use his car«, I say.

»Okay. Write me if you are on your way.«

»I will. Bye Isaac.«

»Bye.«

I've met a few people here in NYC and they are the greatest friends. But I really love Isaac. You know as a best friend. He is my absolutely best friend. Landon too but Isaac has something....I don't know how I should describe it. He's like a brother to me. He is one of the strongest people I know. He has cancer. He's got the osteosarcoma to be precise and is currently doing chemotherapy. I've met him with the osteosarcoma. He's really a role model for me. He takes his illness with humor and for that I admire him. Except for that he is a great young man. Amy, his girlfriend is also my best friend. Landon and Nora are calling us the golden trio. I like that.

»Landon?«, I scream.

»Yeah?«

»Can I take your car? I want to go shopping with Isaac.«

»With Isaac? Of course! Say him I said hello.«

»I will. Bye«, I scream and take my phone and the keys.

»Bye!«

After ten minutes I arrive Isaac's home. I write him a message and ask him, if he needs help. He says he doesn't want help, so I wait in the car until he comes out. I get out.

»Hey«, I smile and hug him. He kisses my head because he can't hug me because of his crutches.

»Hi.« He smiles and I open the door for him.

»Thanks.« He gets in the car and I help him with the crutches. He closes the door and I get in the car.

»So....«

»So....«, he mocks me and I roll my eyes with a laugh.

»Where do you want to go?«, I ask.

»I need a new haircut«, he says and takes his cap off. I start to laugh. He lost his hair through chemotherapy and is now bald. I really love his humour.

»Yeah, you really need it. Gosh, this colour is bad!«

»I think so too! And my hairs are too long! I look like a girl.« We laugh.

»Okay. Where do you really want to go?«

»I need new t-shirts and Amy and I need food.«

»Okay. Then we will go to the mall.« I start the car and start to drive.

»Thank you, for driving me Tessa.«

»No problem. Do you need help?«, I ask.

»No, thank you. Amy is there.«

I see her running to me. She hugs me and I laugh.

»Missed me?«, I ask her with a smirk.

»Of course! I want to see you more, Tessa.« She pouts.

»I want to see you guys more too. But you know how complicated it is. Especially with my work.«

»Yeah. That's bad.«

»Anyways it was good to see you. Even for only two minutes.«

»Yeah«, I smile and hug her again and than Isaac.

»Bye guys.«

»Bye Tessa«, Isaac and Amy say. I get in the car and drive home. I carry all three bags. I bought so much. I just wanted a new jeans and now I have two and four t-shirts.

I open the door and see Landon and Nora. Kissing. I grin and clear my throat and they stop and look at me with red cheeks.

»Sorry Tessa«, Nora mumbles. I laugh.

»Don't worry.«

»So....how is Amy and Isaac?«

»So you want to change the subject?«, I mock Landon who gives me a death stare.

»Tessa«, he warns.

»Just kidding. They are fine.«

»And how about...his osteosarcoma?«

Nora looks at me gently because she knows how sensitive I am because of my best friend.

»They don't know yet. But he will go to the hospital for checking in a few weeks. I hope he's better«, I mumble.

Nora comes to me and hugs me. »Don't worry Tess. I bet everything is fine.«

»I hope you are right.«

»You know what? We should go out. You, Amy, Isaac, Landon and me.«

»I wish I could but-«

»Don't worry about your work. I talked with your boss. You have the next week nothing to do there. On friday we will go out.«

I smile at her and I am pretty excited for next friday.
