Twelve Challenges

Chapter 5

Kevan

     I look up from my map of the obstacle course that I made while visiting it with my father today to see my mother enter my large, black carpeted sitting room. She walks over to me at the small oak desk and proceeds to sit in a large black with gold trim wingback chair. She crosses her arms and legs before saying to me, "I demand that you win these stupid, pointless challenges. I will not have my Sud taken over by a common servant. You are the only one fit enough to rule the most influential and powerful Sud. Your father embarrassed me when he got that female pregnant and has been disgracing me ever since by letting her and that son of her's work within these walls. I want this to end now with you winning these ridiculous challenges. I am going to make sure that you win them no matter what." The longer she talked the louder and more agitated she got. I quickly get up from my chair and move to kneel in front of her and taking her hands into mine saying, "Mother do not get upset and angry. I will win these challenges because I have had the training to succeed in them. I also have your support and know that there is no way that I can lose. I refuse to lose to Scar Face and when I win I will kick him and that female out of our home and I'll even force them to move to a different Sud." My mother calms down and we spend the next two hours coming up with ways to make sure that I have every chance of winning and ways to make sure my father does not find out about our plans.
