A shiver erupted through Marci's body as the early morning air blew swiftly across her skin. She stood alone, having to bid farewell to both Sam and Steve as they decided it was best for her to travel alone to Wakanda. Shuri had sent the woman coordinates for a rendezvous point, where she would be picked up and transported to Wakanda.
Marci was currently waiting outside of a small farming village, still in Spain. There were currently no people in sight, the only noise to reach her ears was the occasional moo of cattle and the soft howl of the wind. She stood atop of a slight mountainous ridge, being able to see out for miles from her position. As the sun began to rise, the sky began to glow soft pastel hues of both orange and pink; a truly beautiful sight.
After receiving Shuri's message, Marci couldn't help but feel the swarm of butterflies in her stomach grow. She knew that she was obviously excited to be reunited with Bucky. After all, the last time they saw each other they parted ways just hours after untangling themselves from the sheets of the bed they shared in a night of pure bliss.
She missed staring into his ocean blue eyes and admiring the way the waves rampaged as they peered into her chocolate orbs.
She missed watching how his smile immediately put one on her own lips, something she knew he was deprived of for far too long.
She missed the feeling his fingers left on her skin, fueling the fire that already burned so bright within her soul.
She missed him.
A soft whirring noise pulled Marci from her reminiscing. Her eyes scanned her surroundings, not being able to pinpoint a source from the noise that continued to grow in amplitude. She took a few steps back, whipping her head around noticing a spot in the grassy clearing before that blew in all directions.
Suddenly, she noticed a figure begin to emerge from the dark shadows of the early morning skies. Through a ripple of color, panels of the jet began to change color. With the cloaking panels disengaging, the true form of the jet began to become visible to the naked eye. Marci watched in awe as the piece of machinery emerged from what appeared to be nothingness.
As the whirring of the engines began to slow, eventually shutting down all together Marci slowly began to walk towards the jet. As the woman made her way over, the entrance hatch began to lower, Marci saw Shuri standing on the platform, a small smile prominent across her features.
"Hello, Marci," Shuri called out with a slight wave.
As Marci walked up the ramp and into the jet, she immediately embraced the younger woman in a hug, "Hey, Shuri," she said softly, "How have you been?"
"Oh, you know, the usual," she scoffed, "Fighting off bad guys and fixing broken white boys," she smirked slyly.
"Speaking of," Marci gave her a look, "How long is it going to take for me to see my now repaired, formerly broken, white boy?"
"Don't worry Marci," she said with a joking roll of her eyes, "You'll be reunited in no time." A smile came over Marci's face as she thought of him, but it quickly transitioned into a look of surprise when she remember what she had done just hours prior.
"Oh, hey," Marci said pulling her backpack off of her shoulders and setting in down on the ground in front of her. She bend down, pulling out the case that homed the vibranium she had previously retrieved. "I think this belongs to you," she said to Shuri, holding it out to her.
Shuri sighed slightly before grabbing the metal that was stolen from her home country, "Vibranium can do incredible things," she said quietly, "But not everyone is worthy of its power," she glanced to Marci, "You are."
