~~~~Amara's alarm went off at six-thirty in the morning, waking her from her deep sleep. With eyes closed she hit snooze on the screen, hoping for more sleep, even though she knew she would not get it. When the alarm went off again ten minutes later she knew she had to get up or she would be late. She pushed the covers back and slid out of bed, grabbing her cell phone to turn off her alarm completely and to grab her watch from it's charger, clipping it on her wrist. Amara immediately went to the bathroom, starting the day by washing her face and brushing her teeth. Coming back into her room, she went to her desk where her makeup mirror was, where she applied subtle makeup again as she didn't need that much, or any for that matter.
"Do you have my white sweater?" Malorie asked from the doorway as Amara was going through her closet.
"No," She said. "I don't see it."
"K." Malorie left quickly, not starting an argument. Amara decided on a black and white striped short sleeve shirt, which she would match with a pair of ripped jeans. It only took her about six minutes to get dressed and look appealing to her mind. To finish off her morning routine she sprayed lots of perfume on to her hid body odor that she didn't even have. She grabbed her backpack from the floor and took it with her downstairs to the kitchen. In the kitchen both of her parents were getting ready for their day, both dresses as well: John wearing a suit and tie, and Danielle wearing a tight skirt with a long sleeve.
"Good morning Amara," John said to his daughter, stretching out the "good".
"Good morning dad, good morning mom." She added.
"And yo you," her mother responded. "Do you want breakfast?" She asked while packing her lunch.
"Yes please." Amara walked up to the counter to watch as her mom zipped her lunchbox shut.
"Well we have granola bars or breakfast bars, cereal, or I can cook some egg-"
"A breakfast bar is good." She answered. Her dad peeked into the pantry and tossed her one across the kitchen.
"Thanks dad." As Amara turned around Malorie came walking into the kitchen and all the good mornings started again. Her dad also tossed her a breakfast bar, assuming she wanted the same thing.
"What time will everyone be home tonight?" Their mom asked before she walked out of the kitchen.
"I have practice until four-thirty." Malorie stated.
"Me too." Amara said.
"Perfect, we will have dinner at five. Any suggestions, I feel like we should have something different." Her mom looked around the kitchen as if looking for suggestions on the wall. Amara and Malorie exchanged glances, both having suggestions but not wanting to say it in fear of their mother saying no.
"Spaghetti?" Amara finally said.
"I like the sound of that. Spaghetti and meatballs, oh and with a side of garlic bread. Perfect!" Danielle exclaimed. Amara was shocked, her facial expression showed it clearly. Amara and Malorie stared at each other, even after their mother had left the kitchen.
"Well you girls outta get going, it's seven forty-five." Their dad finally said, shaking them from the trances.
"Right, of course." They both said. In unison they walked over and hugged their dad goodbye before heading out to Amara's car.
It was Monday, which meant Amara drove to school. The girls both had a car but they only had one parking spot at school, so they switched everyday who drove. Amara driving on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and Malorie driving Tuesday and Thursday. After several discussions Malorie finally agreed to it, excited that she at least could drive to school.
