I didn’t sleep. Not only because of my thoughts, but Samuel and Johnathan as well. Johnathan snores and Samuel cuddles in his sleep. It was a, irritable night to say the least. It’s dawn now and I already left the room. Since I’m not sure if anyone packed my toothbrush, I rinse my mouth and throw water on my face. I don’t look at myself in the mirror. I’m not comfortable enough to do that. Leaving, I see my cousin leaning on the couch. Looks like she fell asleep out here. I just hum and walk around the place. I’m not sure if I can leave the house right now, or if that would even be a good idea. The place is fairly small, and the smell of smoke fills the air. No pictures hung on the wall and the place wasn’t really furnished. They probably move around a lot; I don’t blame them.

“Hey Don”. Johnathan says with a yawn. *Sigh* I turn around and smile, giving a small wave. “I’m gonna ask your cousin for some breakfast.” He says while stretching. I was gonna ask him why he didn’t wake up Samuel for that, but I forgot to bring a paper. So, I nodded in response. He walks away and I go back to my- no, our room. Samuel was still asleep, that’s good, no idle chit chat. I grab the same paper and pencil off the floor and sit down. I don’t need them right now but just in case. I start to feel drowsy; sleep has not been kind to me. Nearing sleep, I lay my head back. It felt cold, really cold. I could see the smoke coming off my breath. Darkness seeped into my vision.

All I could feel was my breath, And It was wavering. There was a soft glow above me. Someone was running away as a random lady frantically searching around. This is an odd dream. The lady breath a sigh of relief then picks up some sort of name plates and placed them back on the table I was on… I’m on a table? Try to look around but I can’t. “D--n d---or, R-n---g in th- ---rge--y C-s-c---n a-ea. The hell is he thinking?” She says, mumbling to herself while pushing the table I was on. Or maybe I’m in a cart? A cart makes more sense. Another lady walked up “Are you okay?” She said to the woman. “Yeah, only the name tags fell. She heaved a sigh of relief. “Are the kids-” “Yes, ------ -----, a-d -------- ------ are ---e. Yes, they’re safe, s--e id--- of a –ct-r ran th---gh --re”. The second woman shook her head.

“Some of the kids here are at risk and he has the nerve to do that?” The first woman began pushing the cart again. “Arrogant prick” …

… It was dark for a while; my breathing and the faint sound of beeping could be heard. Then the beeping was gone. Then I was being violently shook. I was confused. If I was a child, why would someone shake me. When I opened my eyes, Samuel was trying to shake me awake. That makes more sense. What doesn’t make sense is why everyone was in the room, worried. Did they find something out about my sister? Samuel smiled when I opened my eyes and gave me a hug. “We thought we lost you man!” Johnathan said. Amy was crying? My cousin was pacing back and forth, Uncle looked terrified. The mother wiped my face to reveal blood, and I soon realized what they were talking about. I tried to tell them I’m okay, but Samuel was still hugging me. I shouldn’t have shared a room. I really screwed myself over didn’t I.
