Levy wiped her tears as Y/n flipped pancakes, and created a lot out of nothing!

The table was filled with food once he finished, and Gajeel was down the stairs at the smell of his brothers cooking.

"Woah, you cooked too? Levy must've been too lazy." He said.

Y/n shook his head.

"No, she injured herself so I decided to take the job off her hands for the moment." Y/n replied.

Gajeel had unnoticeably glared at Levy.

Y/n then went back in the kitchen to get the rest of the food, and Gajeel slammed his hands on the table, startling Levy.

"So you faked an injury just so you could force my brother to cook? What's your problem?! He is a guest, you lazy broad!" Gajeel shouted.

Levy's lip quivered, she had wished he wasn't so harsh, and she was beginning to get used to Y/n's kindness...tears started to form in her eyes, but she quickly wiped them away.

"I-...I wasn't being lazy. I burned my hand on the sto-."

"Don't fucking lie to me! If Y/n weren't here I swear I'd fucking-."

"You'd what? Cause if Y/n wasn't here we wouldn't even be arguing right now! You'll just be sleeping as always and yell at me when I wake you up or tell you to work!" Levy shouted.

"Who the hell are you-." Gajeel exclaimed but stopped when he smelled Y/n.

He looked at the door and saw Y/n standing there with a tray in his hands, staring awkwardly at the two.

"Uhm...are you two okay?" He asked, cautiously setting down the tray on the table.

"Yeah. Just a disagreement..." Gajeel said as he sat back down.

"Mk." Y/n said.

"We're sorry..." Levy said.

"It's fine. Couples argue all the time." Y/n said.

He then sat down, his eyes stayed shut as he smiled, the awkward atmosphere was thick enough to shield anyone from a dragon's roar.

"So...you guys gonna eat or what?" Y/n asked.

Gajeel was the first to laugh and a wide grin spread across his face as he grabbed some food and began to chow down.

"Jesus slow down." Y/n mumbled.

His gaze then went to Levy, who was slowly picking at her food, and taking small bites of her food with a grim look on her face.

"Is the food not to your liking?" Y/n asked.

Levy looked up, and Gajeel glared mercilessly at her, as if warning her to choose her words carefully.

She gulped and broke into a trembling smile.

"I-it's fine, my hand is just hurting a bit. The food is delicious." She said.

Y/n was conflicted that Levy wasn't telling him the whole truth, he felt like she was also conflicted, in distress maybe?

But then again it could really just be her hand, she did just burn it after all...

As always though, he left it alone.

Y/n walked to the guild, grabbing a job as he did so.

"Morning Y/n! Do you mind if I tag along?" Lucy asked.

"Uhm...hmm....sure I guess. If your looking to split the pay and you aren't gonna put in any effort than I don't need you to be in my way, got it?" Y/n said.

Lucy looked at Y/n.

"I wouldn't do such a thing! Promise!!" Lucy said.

She then pulled out her keys to show them to Y/n.

"After all, I have my own friends by my side. I'm sure together we can take down any foe!" Lucy said.

"Then why won't you and your friends locked in keys go out on a job on your own?" Y/n asked as he dodged the many tables and chairs thrown.

Lucy gasped silently as she watched the male walk away.

"Aw man!" She said.

Y/n then slid the mission slip on the counter and Mira stamped it.

"Have a safe return and do your best!" Mira said as she smile at Y/n.

He smiled back at her and waved.

"Thank you Mirajane." Y/n said.

Y/n didn't notice that Mira blushed when he smiled, as he was already making his way out of the guild.

~The job you're doing isn't important so: Timeskip~!

Y/n sighed as he walked back home, his dragon hearing kicked in as he heard Gajeel yelling at Levy.

"I'll get a job when I damn well please! I don't need your nagging or your bitching!" He growled out.

Levy's voice trembled as she yelled back.

"Why are you getting so angry with me for helping! I'm trying to look out for us!! At least Pantherlily is contributing!" Levy shouted.

"Why do you keep bringing his name up?! What, you wanna be with him more than me?! Why does having a job make him better than me?! He's a fucking animal!!" Gajeel shouted.

"It's not about that! I'm just using someone close to you as an example! Y/n too! He contributes more than you have in less than two days! You can't even get a job or work or fix anything around here like he does!" Levy shouted, her voice cracked, and Y/n could smell tears form.

"If he's so fucking great then how about you marry him!" Gajeel shouted.

"Gajeel I'm doing this because I love you! I want to have a long life with you and live out our dreams we gushed about under the stars! I'm just trying to help make it all come true!" Levy said.

"What by throwing my failures in my face? Naming all these people who're doin' better than me?! You think that's helping Levy?! How about you praise me for once! I'm trying!" Gajeel shouted.

"I'm not- no! That's not what I'm trying to—

"Just shut the hell up! Leave me alone!" Gajeel shouted and stomped up the stairs.

Levy tried going after him but instead dropped to her knees and began sobbing.

Y/n decided to open the door and walk in the house, seeing trash everywhere, stuff was on the floor, probably from being thrown or knocked down.

He rushed to Levy's side.

"Hey...don't cry okay? Gajeel's just a bit unhinged is all...stressed even." Y/n said.

He was about to start talking but stopped when Levy slightly held on to his clothes and cuddled closer to him, crying into his chest.

He wrapped his arms around her and held her.

'He's warm...it's...comforting...' Levy thought.

"It's going to be fine. We just have to be patient with him..." Y/n whispered.

"...he wasn't like this before..." Levy mumbled.

"Hm?" Y/n asked.

"He was caring...gentle...loving...and kind...he never drank or stay in all day...we used to go on missions together...and...he smiled at me all the time...and he...loved me, he would say it everyday." Levy said.

"He never rose his voice at me, or called me out of my name...he would hold me..and he doesn't even want me in the same room as him anymore...he glared at me with such hate that it's heartbreaking..." Levy explained.

"He called me...when he first ask you out...he was really happy. Happier than ever actually...and you're telling me that drinking and stress drove all of that away?" Y/n asked.

Levy laid her head on his chest and nodded.

She knew how wrong it was...but she needed the comfort...and Y/n was here for her...

So it wouldn't hurt...to...just be comforted by him right?
