Emily stood in front of the mirror for a second, quietly admiring the woman looking back at her — her hair was done to perfection, her dress fitted her just right and her make up made her eyes pop just the way she liked it. Behind her, she could hear the commotion of her bridesmaid, her mom and Sam's mom running around like crazy, all apparently more nervous than she was about the whole party being perfect and everything going to plan. After all, sure Emily wanted things to go well, but, if at the end of the day, she was finally Mrs. Evans, she really didn't care what happened in the process.
Noticing her quiet demeanor, Quinn stood up from her place in the midst of all the crazy and energetic bridesmaid to make her way to her best friend instead. As she stood in front of the mirror, beside Emily, she smiled at her through their reflections.
"You okay?" She asked quietly, not to draw anyone's attention to them. "Nervous."
"Not at all." She assured. "I just... I just almost can't believe it's happening, you know?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean... Marrying Sam? I never... I mean, I didn't... I don't know." Emily chuckled quietly, reaching over to grab Quinn's hand in her as she tried to breathe normally again. "I just feel a bit... Overwhelmed I guess?"
"You shouldn't." Quinn assured then, smiling gently at her as she spoke in her usual low and calm tone. "You're about to marry the love of your life who's also crazy about you. You're surrounded by all the people you love and all the people who love you just as much. The whole wedding is perfect — I made sure of it — and you look smoking in your dress. You haven't seen Sam since yesterday — which is surprising. I didn't think you'd make it, to be honest."
"Q!"
"It's true." Quinn smirked with a laugh as Emily rolled her eyes. "You're never away from each other for more than an hour."
"Yes, we are!"
"When?"
Quinn laughed again when Emily opened her mouth to speak, but closed it again when she realized she didn't have an answer for it.
"It doesn't matter." She pouted. "But we do."
"Sure." Quinn smiled. "But anyway... You're not getting bad luck from seeing each other before the wedding and you have all those things your mom wanted you to have, right? Something old?"
"Mary said I could consider her veil old since it was her mom's veil too." Emily shrugged.
"Something new?"
"I'm wearing the earrings you got me." She smiled, lifting her hair a bit to show off the shiny little earrings Quinn had presented her a few days before. Quinn smiled then, nodding approvingly.
"Something blue?"
Emily then lifted her dress a bit to show off the royal blue ribbon she had attached to her right ankle. Quinn smiled at that.
"And something borrowed?"
At that, Emily stopped for a second, looking around the room to make sure no one was paying attention to them. Quinn watched her quietly then, watching as Emily reached into the neckline of her dress to pull out a discreet little chain from it, with a small ring attached to it. Quinn waited for Emily to speak up knowing full well she'd get nothing if she pressed the answer out of Emily, watching as she played with the ring for a while.
