I put all the remaining strength I had into building a shack in order to have a place where I could stay. It was a strange feeling. On the one hand, I felt satisfied for driving the mongols off my homeland but on the other hand I felt degraded for getting denounced for breaking the Samurai Code.
The way of honor....
War cannot be won with honor you have to kill in order to survive. It is foolish to follow these rules because they seem irrational. Sometimes we have to sacrifice lifes in order to save others that's the path of life. The Shogun watched whilst thousands of people were getting killed and the Samurai were a joke they didn't help either. But I won't run from the consequences and if that means that I have to die then that's just the way it is. But I will die with pride and honor and mostly important as a warrior.
***A few days later***
My fingers felt the vibration from the bow as I shot the arrow and killed a deer which I carried to my den. Afterwards, the skin was removed and the animal was well butchered. Later on I grilled the meat and sat around the fireplace just gazing into the ember. The wood was mostly burnt down and the ash reminded me of the times Taka spent hours beside the oven trying to forge the best armor he possibly could make. The thought about Taka placed a little smile on my lips but it immediately vanished because it was replaced by the flashback of him lying on the ground.......beheaded.
„I hope she's alright." I thought to myself as I poured water over the remaining ember and went to bed.
