I've finally reached my last trimester of pregnancy. Brent was not kidding when he said I wouldn't be seeing him. I was glad I didn't run into him anymore, that man made my anxiety go out the roof. Even Bianca has been real quiet, but I'm always alert. We had the baby shower at home, which our close friends and family came to. Even colleagues we've worked with came through. Baby girl had more than enough gifts and I know a lot of it would come in handy.
Her nursery was completed, and her closet was organized. Now all we waited for was for her arrival."Baby girl momma and poppa can't wait to meet you," I beamed as I rubbed my belly.
She kicked back and I smiled. Hearing the front door open, I peek around the corner to see Brent walking in with the groceries I had him pick up on his way home. He walked into the kitchen, placing the bags on the counter.
"Thanks babe," I said and kissed him.
"Anything for you," he kissed me back and then helped put away the groceries.
I left out the items I needed for dinner. Tonight we are having chicken teriyaki with white rice. I washed and cut up all my veggies. Then, I got started on the chicken. As I'm stirring the sauce, Brent comes behind me and wraps his arm around me.
"Damn it smells good in here," he said.
"Chicken teriyaki over rice for dinner," I replied.
He placed a kiss on my neck and his hands rested on my round stomach. He helped set the table, and that night the table was filled with great conversation. Flirtatious comments thrown back and forth. After dinner, he cleaned up the kitchen and I headed upstairs to get ready for bed. As I'm in the bathroom wrapping my hair, I feel a warm liquid run down my leg.
"Shit," I mumbled to myself and went to grab a towel to use.
Grabbing a fresh pair of clothes, I decided to shower real quick. Once my shower is done, I try to relax through the waves of labor pains I'm feeling.
"Baby you good?," he asked me.
"Yes, but my water just broke."
Brent looked me in the eyes. A smile set on his face.
"Baby girl making her arrival?," he asked.
I smiled a little and nodded my head. He went to grab our bag for the hospital. I put my robe on and slip on my Ugg's. He helped me down the stairs and out to the car. I put my seatbelt on and Brent focused on driving. He drove safely, but quickly to the hospital. Parking in the OBGYN LOT and heading in. They got me to my room immediately. Now I'm hooked up to all these machines and an IV bag. Brent sat next to me, and rubbed my hand.
"How are you feeling mamas?," he asked me.
"Scared," I admitted.
"That's normal baby, but you're gonna do fine. You and baby girl are going to be okay," he said and kissed my forehead.
I nodded my head and did my deep breathing techniques we practiced. 10 hours later, we welcome our beautiful baby girl. His eyes watered and he followed the nurses. All that could be heard was the beeping of the machines and my baby girl crying.
"It's okay princess," he reassured her and the moment she heard his voice she stopped crying.
These two had an unbreakable bond, and that made my heart full. The nurses passed her to him once she was all swaddled up. Her little hand held on to his finger.
