The Dark Lord turned to Draco, smiling in that same sickly way he always did. The world moved at a glacial pace.

"Though you, Draco, did not disobey me." He hissed "I fear simply harming her, would do her no good." He began to circle Draco. "A lesson must be leaned here"

"My Lord" he could barely speak through shuddered breathing.  You had to do something, but what?

"What should we do then?" the Dark Lord asked. "Do I kill him?"

"My Lord" you mimicked Draco "Please, I am the one who disobeyed you. Kill me"

"Noble of you, to die for your husband. Stupid. But loyal. No'' he paused "I don't think I will kill him." you felt a sense of relief, but a feeling that was made all too soon.

Before you could finish your breath, the Dark Lord had his wand to Draco. The Cruciatus curse leaving his mouth without a single stammer or word of hesitation, of course.

You wanted so desperately to close your eyes, not to watch as Draco fell to the ground. His arms managed to find their way forward before his face hit the hardwood flooring.

"Please!" You screamed, the noise leaving you before you could process it. Pleading with someone who felt nothing, was absolutely pointless. If not a detriment.

The Dark Lord retracted his wand for a moment, allowing for Draco to sob softly on the floor before he spoke "Perhaps I should torture him until he's mad.. Leave you to care for him. Tell me y/n, would you stay even if he was nothing more than a shell?" .

He cast the spell again. Draco's screaming crushed your soul into dust, it filled the manor, every inch of it.

Where were his parents?

And again.

Why weren't they helping him?

Once more.

Why couldn't you?

This time when the Dark Lord stopped you stayed silent, barely able to see through the tears that sat in your eyes.

There was no way Draco would be okay, not after this. Not really.

Draco now lay unconscious on the ground, arms wrapped around his body. You knew that feeling, the feeling of having to hold yourself together or risk all your ribs being pulled from your skin one by one.

The Dark Lord sighed, nearly like he was bored.

Don't say anything, stay silent.

You resisted running to Draco, even as he wheezed. Cradle him and make sure he was okay.

No weakness, you can't, you just can't.

"You know what" The Dark Lord spoke "As fun as this was, I think I have a better idea for your punishment"

Fun? FUN?!

He left in a cloud of smoke.

Once you were finally alone in the room you ran to Draco, dropping to him as he still lay unmoving.

"Baby wake up" you begged. "Draco" you whispered, running your hand over his messy hair. How many times did you have to find yourself here?

You have never felt more relief, than when he opened his eyes, and spoke your name.

The Dark Lord had decided in the last few months that his snake would no longer be eating those who died at his hand. Something about bad meat.

You hadn't realized how many people had died until you saw it, the mass grave.

It started as a joke DracoxReaderWhere stories live. Discover now
