The Dark Lord returned that night with something you had only believed to be in a children's story, The Elder wand. But why, you asked yourself, did it look so familiar?

You could never imagine the Dark Lord any more frightening, until that next day. After finding out Harry and his friends had broken into Bellatrix's vault at Gringotts and were able to escape unscathed.

What happened next was bloody, a massacre of flesh and bone. The same Goblin that had once been captured here, now law amongst the stacks of guard bodies. Unable to give the Dark Lord the answers he was looking for. The Goblin, it seemed, was guiltiest and silent. Accepting the death he must have figured was coming with his return here.

These Manor halls would never be the same, not with the ghosts that now claimed them.

You, Draco, Narcissa, and Lucius all watched as he walked with bare feet through the puddles of dark Blood whispering to his snake, words of a language you will never know, and frankly didn't care to.

You couldn't help the intrusive thought that echoed in your mind, this was going to be a lot of weight to carry.

"Love" Draco whispered, which made you realize in that instant that you were lost in the sight of it all. Focusing on really nothing but watching nonetheless.

"Sorry, I should..." you stepped toward the heaps of carcasses.

"No," Narcissa reached out her hand to you, clenching her hand onto your shoulder, stopping you in your tracks. "We will handle this, you go to your room"

"But, Narcissa" You tried to object, the last time she had taken a task from you, it didn't end well.

"The last time you tried to help the girl she got put into this mess" Lucius spoke softly, looking down at the floors of his home, tarnished. You would not have said it so plainly, but Lucius was right.

"y/n, and I will do it" Draco spoke up "Mother, can I use your wand?"

Narcissa didn't object or even speak. She just obliged, handing her son her wand looking down at your hands as they moved.

"Draco I-" You tried to object to him as well, having always wanted to keep him from this part. To leave him without the smell of festering flesh on him.

"I am helping, " the look on his face was, in all matters of the word, demanding. There was no stopping him now, not after what you'd just seen.

You had hoped to return to Hogwarts after the break, but once the Dark Lord returned with hoards of fighters in tow and many more to come. You knew you would not be returning the way you once hoped.

"We will go there, ask for the boy, and if they don't obey..." The Dark Lord paced before his army of snakes and beasts.

"We kill them?" Bellatrix nearly cheered at the words.

"We kill them."
