You stood, on darkened mountain tops near the farthest perimeters of the castle. The lights shone like a beacon through every window. The rolling lands of Hogwarts lay before you, begging and longing to be untouched. You could nearly feel the earth as she cried under the weight of every Death eater, creature and followers of The Dark Lord.

You never knew the sheer volume of those on this side until tonight, thousands upon thousands of adults, versus children, All far too similar to yourself. This was going to be a bloodbath.

You nearly cried when the whitened barrow fell, having to swallow back the tears in order to seem stronger. How you wished, more than anything right now to be on that side. Inside the castle rather than standing here on this side, no matter the cost of it.

It was the push from Narcissa that sent you there, her own wand in Draco's hands with the means to defend himself.

"Go" she whispered, your mission was clear, go in, get his wand, hide. A mission of course, the Dark Lord was unaware of.

You held Draco's arm as he apparated you into the dungeons, the Slytherin common room the one place you figured may be safest. That was wisest it seemed, because the flocking herd of scattering Slytherins rushed past you in their home corridors. Most ready to leave, and stand on the side of The Dark Lord, or maybe most wanting nothing more than to hide and not risk their lives for either side of this. Selfish to the end, a feeling you wished you could share.

"I will get Crabbe and Goyle, you get Theo and Blaise" Draco ordered.

"Pansy and Daphne too" Draco gave you a look, resisting shaking his head completely.

"Love" he sighed as the world around you started to erupt, having not given Harry to the Dark Lord, the battle had really begun.

"Fine, grab them and meet me..." he paused, thinking of the best place you could go. "Meet me at the room of requirement, Harry I am sure will be hiding there" The one place you knew, better than most.

"Okay" you both knew the dangers of splitting up, but it was so much easier to cover ground this way. And you needed, so desperately, to make sure everyone was okay.

"30 minutes, and if one of us isn't there. We leave, apparate to the common room, you hear me?" He asked.

"Yes," you nodded. Getting ready to apparate your way into the most crowded hallway "Draco," you called before you did "I love you"

He rushed to you, wrapping his arms around you so hard you thought he may knock the wind right out of you. His lips meeting yours in a way you wished you'd never have to feel again, the kind of kiss someone only gave when they worried they may never see you again.

"30 minutes?" you nodded, needing to remind you both that you had to reunite. You just had to.

He nodded fast, "I love you" and with that, he was gone. Leaving only the edges of white smoke behind him. This was stupid. Okay... just... GO.

You appeared into the final portion of the hallway, looking desperately through the sea of wandering faces. A million you knew, but no one you needed.

Some even screamed when they saw you, causing you for some reason to jump. It seemed for a moment you forgot that right now, you were the bad guy they had always thought you were.

"THEODORE!" You screamed into the stampeding cloud. "DAPHNE!" you hoped more than anything they could hear you, even over the voices that combated yours. You were racing against time, racing against bodies, racing against fate.

You were pushing through every face, barely making out details as you passed each one. That's when you saw them, Theo and Daphne, tucked into a corner of the dungeons hall.
