The Berenstain Bears Trouble For Sister Bear

Grounded

Mama and Papa Bear were not happy with what Sister Bear did at school. Not one bit. They thought that she would know better to shove someone in a locker. Now, they wanted to know why she did that. "Why did you do it, Sister?" asked Papa.

"Too Tall set me up!" protested Sister. "It wasn't my idea!"

"What do you mean by that?" asked Mama.

"He said, he would get me a lunch, if I did," said Sister. "I couldn't turn him down."

"I thought we raised you better than that, Sister!" said Mama. "That's bullying! We did not raise you to bully other cubs! You're better than that! All you had to do was say no!"

"Principal Honeycomb already told me, okay?" said Sister, rolling her eyes. "You don't have to repeat what he said."

"Don't be fresh with us, young lady!" roared Papa. "You are grounded!"

"Grounded?!" gasped Sister.

"That's right, grounded!" said Papa.

"No Bearbie dolls, no hanging out with your friends, no television, and no talking on the phone," said Mama. "You're grounded for the rest of the month!"

"It's not fair!" complained Sister. "It's all Too Tall's fault!"

"You're the one that wanted that shoved the new cub in her locker," said Mama.  "Now, go to your room! I'll call you when dinner is ready."

"I hate you, Mama and Papa!" barked Sister. And, she stormed upstairs to her room, and slammed the door.

"She's gonna be very sorry for saying that!" Papa, about to lose his temper.

"Calm down, Papa!" said Mama. "We laid down the law. Sister needs to understand what she did was wrong. There are boundaries, and she overstepped them."

"Be that as it may, Sister will treat us with respect!" said Papa, his voice loud and clear.

Brother Bear came home from school, and heard what happened. "I told her not to have anything to do with the Too Tall gang!" he said.

"I don't blame you for being, Brother," said Mama, reading a book. Just then, the phone rang. It was Sister's friend, Queenie McBear.

"Hi, is Sister there?" she asked.

"I'm sorry, Queenie, but she isn't allowed to be on the phone right now," said Mama. "She's grounded."

"It wouldn't have anything to do with shoving that new cub into the locker, would it?" asked Queenie.

"I'm afraid so," said Mama.

"I knew it!" said Queenie. "Well, bye."

"Bye, Queenie," said Mama. "Take care." She hung up, and went back to reading her book.

Sister Bear was in her room, fuming. She hated herself, for getting involved in Too Tall's shenanigans. She felt like going over to his house, to confront him, but she was already grounded, and that would only get her into more trouble, than she was already in. However, she wrote him an angry letter. This is what it said.

Dear Too Tall,

Thanks to you, I got in trouble by the principal, for shoving Amanda into her locker. Are you proud of yourself? My parents grounded me for the rest of the month. If I wasn't grounded, I would march straight to your house, and give you what for! That's the last time, I take orders from you! So help me, I will prove myself innocent from this wrongdoing! And furthermore, I'll tell your father, Too Ton Grizzly what you and your buddies made me do! I knew it was a mistake, doing what you wanted me to do! I'll never forget the time you took my jump rope away, and my brother had to get it back from you! You were always a troublemaker, Too Tall, and so were your goons! I hope you guys get arrested! Don't talk to me anymore!

Sister Bear

Sister Bear was done writing the letter, and put it in an envelope. Without her parents knowing, she would have to sneak out of the tree house, and go to the post office to mail the angry letter to Too Tall. "I could probably do it, when they're asleep," she said. But, there was only one problem.

The post office was closed during the nighttime hours!
