omniscient
jahmier stepped out in the mid-day air, his phone tucked in his back pocket providing the music that buzzed through his earbuds, one stuck in his left ear and the other hanging down. his skateboard left outside from the previous day lie propped up on a step of the porch waiting till the next time he would use it. using a foot, he flipped the skateboard off the ground and it's wheels landed on the concrete right as he jumped onto it with both his feet.

he slid down the street of his neighborhood nodding and singing along to the music from his earbuds while the skateboard slithered around objects on the street. he made the skateboard flip up, pop on a short sidewalk, smoothly landing back on it with both feet.

he swerved off of the sidewalk suddenly at the sight of something unexpectedly jumping in front of him, thankfully he had the skill to avoid a fall from the sudden movement. confused, he stepped off the skateboard and took out his earbud to see what had stopped him.

he looked to the right to see the mess of black fur sitting and staring at him. the cat let out a quiet meow as it sat on the concrete a few feet away with it's eyes on jahmier and his skateboard. jahmier walked over to the cat, all six feet of him hovering over the small animal.

"watch where you fuckin goin." he grumbled to the cat. in response the cat scurried away, meowing again and going to sit by a dumpster.

jahmier laughed at his successful attempt to scare the cat, he didn't expect it to be scared enough to run away.

he shook his head and walked back over to his skateboard. before he could hop back on, he seen the ball of dark fur once again. this time it sniffed his skateboard, then his shoes, and then his skateboard again, letting out lots of meow's as it curiously circled around jahmier and the board.
"what did i just tell you?" meow.

"ion know what that mean. but i got somewhere to be so be safe man–or is you a girl?"

meow.

jahmier sighed. "i'm not about to have a conversation witchu, i got somewhere to be. just stop followin' me man. or girl. whatever you are." he shooed the cat away but it didn't budge. he shrugged, hopped back on his skateboard and started down the street again.

out of curiosity he looked back to see if the cat was still there, it was.

he resumed his music, checked the time on his phone and observed all the neighborhood stores and shops that he passed on the way. he passed northgate market, a department store, the laundromat and liquor store that were oddly right next to each other, and soon enough he seen the large letters black letters plastered around the front of his school,

Wrigley High
he arrived at 2:50p.m., unintentionally a few minutes early.
night school began at 3 and ended at 9.

right now everyone would probably be in the cafeteria or in the hallway. he tucked his skateboard under his arm and walked inside the school's double doors after being buzzed in.

unsurprisingly, everything still looked the same as before he left. he missed the feeling of school. he missed talking to people who he'd probably never know in ten years. he missed when he would sometimes skip class just to go to the skating park, either by himself or with a friend or two.

he missed everything except for the fact that he couldn't focus in school without being drugged up with adderall all day. he woke up at 7 am this morning (his body never allowed any later) and took his first pill, his second at 11pm , and his third before he left out for school, which meant the side effects would kick in soon.
