Thomas sat on the school roof, bored, as usual. He was waiting for his 2 best friends, Alexa and Josh, whom he had hung out with every day since 4th grade. The trio were in 10th grade now, and boy were they changing. Alexa who had originally bared resemblance to what could only be described as a plethora of stylized rainbows, now dressed in a darker shade, not dark enough to be an emo per say, but not light enough to be what it used to be. Josh hadn't changed much, though notably he had grown his hair out longer, out to his shoulders in fact, maybe even a bit under, a style Thomas had favored, although he enjoyed Alexa's rustic, natural look more.

Thomas was planning to just wander back into the school, though fifth period had begun, and he didn't want any of his teachers to know that he and his piers had been skipping. He started to assume that the duo would never arrive, that they'd be caught, until suddenly Thomas heard a voice. "Hey, Tom-Tom!" Thomas turned to see Josh, whom he was excited to see, though concerned as Alexa wasn't present with him. "Hey, Josh. Do you know where Alexa is?" Josh put on a straight face, he looked disappointed with the boy's question. "No, i haven't a clue where she is." he replied. "Damn." Thomas said, defeated. He got up from his spot, and brushed off his pants, which were now formerly covered by leaves and twigs. "So, where do we wanna ditch to?" Thomas questioned. "Movies." Josh replied. "I have a cousin who has recently started working there, he could give us a discount." Thomas nodded, and trekked to the edge of the roof, which he carefully scaled down, Josh following. The two made their way to the movies.

After a few minutes of adventuring, the duo had made their way to the theater, and Josh made his way to the ticket counter. "What do we want to see, Tom-Tom? I mean, everything looks pretty great." Thomas grazed his eyes across the list of movies, overwhelmed by choice. "Come on, Tom-Tom!" Josh exclaimed impatiently. "If you can't pick a movie, i'll pick it for you!" Thomas sighed. Josh had always been this childish, but Thomas never really got used to it. "Okay, you pick then." Thomas replied, a tiny bit agitated. "That romance movie looks good, we could watch that." Thomas was confused. "I thought you didn't like romance movies, though." he stated. "Normally i don't but..." Josh's reply was cut off by something that seemed like an internal thought. After a minute or so of verbal pause, he continued. "Never mind that, let's go get the tickets, okay?"

The duo, after getting their tickets, made their way to the theater, where they began watching the movie. By the 20 minute mark, Thomas was bored out of his mind. He was trying to keep himself from falling asleep, as he thought the movie was that boring. However, Josh was very into the movie. Josh never liked romance movies, so it was very weird to Thomas that he was so engrossed in this one. 40 minutes in, Thomas was totally out of it. "Can we go home now please?" he sounded with a groan. Josh had a delayed reaction, as the movie had caught all of his attention. "Oh, yeah! We can go." The duo headed out of the theater, Thomas moving notably quicker than Josh.

Thomas at this point was just bored. He enjoyed when Alexa was with them more as she had more actual fun ideas then Josh could ever have. Ready to leave, Thomas went to say his goodbyes, when suddenly, Josh spoke. "Hey, Tom-Tom. I have something i wanna tell you." Thomas was confused, but decided to listen to what the boy had to say anyways. "Oh, yeah?" he responded. "Well Thomas i...i like you, Thomas! And i have for quite some time!" Thomas was dumbfounded, his face drowned of color. "Josh, i..." he hesitated, before letting his true feelings out. "I don't like you back. Sorry, but you're childish, and naive. Truth is, i like Alexa."Josh stood there, silent. He said nothing for a minute or two, before balling up his fist. "Oh...i see how it is." He looked up. "So, you hate me then, correct?" Thomas sighed. "No, nothing like that, it's just-" Josh cut Thomas off, now sobbing. "Yeah, you fucking hate me, don't you? You hate me so fucking much, that all you've done is third-wheel me, for a Starbucks fuck-girl, who's put your life in danger. Is that right? Is that right, Tom-Tom?" Thomas was dumbfounded. "Josh, no! Calm down!" Thomas attempted to calm Josh down, but to no avail. As he just kept prating on. "7th grade, we went swimming in a gator infested lake because SHE said so, and you had an injured leg for 3 weeks after that. 9th grade, she wanted to go to the store and steal shit, we got caught, and we're lucky as fuck that we were charged as kids and let go. Hell, 4th fucking grade we got in trouble for throwing rocks at kids. You hate me. You'd rather shelf me for a fucking asshole." Thomas had nothing to say, he felt as if he couldn't stop the boy's anger, so he left it alone. They stood in silence for a couple of minutes, till Josh spoke up. "I'm done here tonight, Thomas. Goodbye." Josh walked away, still sobbing, as Thomas watched, and had time to reflect on his thoughts alone.
