"Why'd you tell him, Hideaki?" The young boy's voice cried out in disdain. It was shaky, Mika could barely stomach it. He knew the rules, he knew they were easy to follow. They all followed it. Clíodhna did it, Elanis did it, Ryouken did it, hell, he knew even Ryoto would do it. But he couldn't follow it. Araki's one huge rule. "Do not date any mortals. You are a god, a mortal has no place in a god's world."
A simple rule. One that Mika couldn't follow. He kept it from everyone, even his own brother was unaware. But of course, Clío was the one to find out., She was the one to report it. "An angel's intuition is never incorrect.", it's what she always said. And she was right. Mika never told her, but she was smart enough to pick up clues. That ended them here, a roof in which Mika and his partner Hisaaki were spending their last days. "I'm truly sorry, Asahiko. I never thought this would even be in the realm of possibili-'' Mika found it hard to even finish his sentences. There were few words the two had left to exchange, and Mika didn't want to waste them. "I know I messed up, Hisaaki. A mortal should never cross paths with a god long enough for them to bond." In response, Hisaaki scoffed. "It seems like a god can help love as much as a human can. Which one of you controls love? Which one of you led me to that beautiful feeling which is now causing my slaughter?" "How peculiar. I am a god of pain and suffering, yet my compassion and love has caused you to reach your last moments. I wish Araki had just shot me in the heart instead of shooting you in your's." Mika sighed. "How unfortunate. I thought he'd have killed me for this, yet the god of pain and suffering takes another casualty." He sighed, looking at his boyfriend, who had been sitting and hugging his knees next to him. Mika couldn't imagine how painful it was for him, he had only an hour left of life, and he wanted to make sure it was the best hour of his life. "Mika, I don't have much time left. There's 50 minutes left till the clock reaches zero. I don't want to die, Mika." "I'm sorry, Hisaaki. But for the next 50 minutes, I am yours. Whether you'd like to sit here in silence or stand up and gaze at the undying sky, I will respect your wishes. I'd hate for the end of your world to be more tragic than it already will be." "...Mika..." Hisaaki stood up, looking Mika straight in his face. He slowly intertwined his fingers with that of his boyfriend's, as he began to speak. "I would like to experience my final moments of true euphoria in these following few minutes, I want you to take my hand and guide me through this empty space, I want us to move as softly and light as the summer wind, and when my time is finally up, I want to feel just one of the petals created by our beautiful breeze." "What are you saying, Hisaaki?" "...May I have this dance, Mika?" Mika smiled, letting go of a single hand. "Of course, my dear. Let us hop and step until our world ends." Hisaaki smiled, replying by pulling Mika close, allowing him to pull out afterwards, beginning their last waltz in their empty dancehall. The dance was short. It was difficult to keep up grace knowing it'd be their final dance, and Hisaaki slowly grew weaker the more his legs moved in time with Mika's. It hurt both of them, whether physically or mentally. Both couldn't stand to see the other go, but they knew time was up. The both of them broke the laws of love, and they had a minute before their crimes would catch up to them. With the little time they had left, Mika was ready to fulfill the final wish of Hisaaki. And so he did, gifting him the petal which he wished for, as he gently placed his lips on Hisaaki's, holding him tightly by one arm, his fingers still intertwined with his in the other, as they finished their grand performance for an audience of stars.[23:00]
"...I love you, Hisaaki. Goodbye, my dear." "I love you too, Mika. I hope to see you in whatever afterlife I end up in, I hope you'll visit me there." Hisaaki laid his lips on his boyfriend's cheek one more time. The final petal from his tree of life was gone, and his eyes closed slowly, leaving only the beginning of a river of tears. "...I'll miss you, my dear."
