Turning off the computer and grabbing a cup of coffee, Tia headed towards her boss's office. She knocked on the large black door that formed the barrier between the corridor and her boss's office. A deep, thick-accented voice answered from inside the office, "Enter."

Tia carefully opened the door and found her boss looking tired and exhausted. He had fully taken his tie off and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his crisp shirt, his cuff links discarded on the desk corner, and his sleeves rolled to his elbows. His neatly slicked hair ruffled and loosened.

This man was her boss, Asher Ryan Kors. He always towered over her 5' 4'' figure, with his 6' 5'' build. His hair shone with its rich auburn colour, with hints of chocolate that complemented his hazel brown eyes. This man was like a Greek god, but that was no surprise to Tia since she's known him for nearly 6 years.

"Mr Kors, I am going to clock out since it's 11.50 pm. This is your cup of coffee before I leave. Please don't stay too late. You have a meeting at 8 am with the HR team," Tia says, knowing he would work till early morning, as she carefully places the mug on his table.

"Thank you, Miss Nikolaou. I really appreciate it. I have to finish this work and I'll leave. Get home safe. I'll see you tomorrow," Asher says as he continued to finish his work.

"Okay, sir. See you in the morning. Have a good night." Tia says as she leaves his office.

Grabbing her bag from her office, Tia makes her way home.

As the elevator opened the doors to her floor she heard the cries of an infant flooding the whole floor. Ignoring it she made her way to her door, to see a basket with a newborn baby placed right in front of it with 2 large suitcases. Kneeling down to look at the baby she saw a note which read:

To Tia,

I am very sorry to leave her with you, Tia. I know you lost your sister too, but I can't take care of her, Tia. She reminds me of her mother and I can't take it, I don't want to hate my daughter. So I am begging you, Tia, please raise her.  Please take care of her for us, I am really sorry. I will be in your debt for the rest of my life. Also, I haven't named her, so please do that for me. I have also signed over my parental and custodial rights to you and in the brown envelope is all the documentation for her. I am extremely sorry, Tia.

Much Love, Dav

Picking up the basket that held the baby, she opened the door to her apartment that she had brought a few years ago. Keeping the door open, she carried the baby inside and moved the suitcases inside as well. Once she had finished that, her niece started to cry again, so she picked her up and rocked her, however, she didn't stop so, Tia smelled her diaper and looked inside but the diaper was clean, so the next option is food. She held the baby in her hands and gave the baby its pacifier so that she could search through the luggage to try and find some baby formula. After, around 30 minutes, to her distraught, she was unable to find anything to feed the baby, so she quickly picked up the basket with the baby in and made her way to her car.

Once at the supermarket, she was relieved to find it open this late at night. Making her way to the baby aisle she frantically found the baby formula that her niece need and grabbed some baby essentials such as nappies, bottles, baby wipes and more. Then she made her way to the cashier where she paid and drove back to her apartment, which was a struggle. She lugged 3 bags full of baby this and a baby basket. Thankfully she didn't have to put the key in and placed her thumb on the door which unlocked the door.

Picking the whining baby up she grabbed the baby formula and baby bottle she had brought, hurriedly making the baby formula and giving it to the baby, this relieved some stress as the baby started to settle down and drink the milk.

This gave her time to think about what had just happened.

Her late sister's husband had left her niece and ran away, now she had to raise the kid.
