~ Quinn's POV ~

My sister. The sister I have 't seen for exactly 4 and a half years. Jessica Liberty Campbell. And she came into the diner accompanied by a tall young man with a mop of wavy black hair.

But what in the world is she doing here? Haven't she decided to move away from Brooklyn 4 years ago since our 'Dad' left us 6 years ago and she 'suffered' 2 years with Mom and I? And now she's back? I can't believe it.

"Quinn? Quinn, are you okay?"

I turned to Lily and Harp who were looking at me with worried expressions. I realized my fists were bunched tightly together on the table and my teeth were clenched. I relaxed my fists and flashed them a smile.

"My dear sister is back," I said.

"What?!"

Lily and Harper both turned their heads and looked at Jessica, who was now at the ordering counter. Our waiter was heading toward us with 3 plates on a tray. Sensing the mood, he quickly slid our plates on the table and scurried away. I would've laughed at the sight of him like that if I wasn't angry.

"And she's totally blind to us sitting here," I added bitterly.

Lily and Harper looked back to me. They knew about the whole thing with my family and all, so they knew why I was so angry.

"Well..." Harper trailed off awkwardly.

I picked up my fork and stabbed at the French toast viciously. Jessica hadn't changed one bit. Her dark brown hair was still sleek and straight, her sense of fashion never failing her, her back still ramrod straight, and her skin still perfectly tanned.

I used my fork to separate each slice of French toast, dragging pieces of it around my plate.

This piece of toast is her head, I thought viciously. Then I dunked the piece of toast in my yogurt, burying it down. And this is me drowning her.

"Um, Quinn? I think you need to calm down." Harper's voice forced itself into my head, hovering high above my threatening thoughts.

I looked up at her and Lily, both wearing forced calm looks on their faces and fake smiles.

"What?"

Lily's eyes flickered behind me and back to my face. I turned around and saw none other than the devil herself.

Jessica.

"Hello, sister!" she chirped, holding a cup in her hand.

"Jessica? It's been quite a while since I've seen you!" I said, faking a smile.

And I was wishing I never had to again.

"I know right! I couldn't handle living like that anymore with you, me, and Mom. So I decided to leave. But Europe was so great!"

So why the fuck did you come back?

"Oh? Was it? Well, isn't that lovely! I've always wanted to go to Europe!" False.

"Maybe you and I could plan a trip there sometime in the future! You know, just 2 sisters going on vacation together! I do think that's nice actually." Jessica smiled at me and sat down next to me. The man next to her sat next to Jessica and I was stuck at the end of the seat, leaning against the window.

In your dreams and who the hell said you could sit here?!

"That sounds nice. And who's is the man next to you?" As if  I care.

"Oh, this is my fiancé, Logan West!"

Logan shot me a quick smile, snaking his arm around Jessica's waist. The latter leaned into him lovingly and turned to kiss his cheek before turning back to me.

Your fiancé? I really don't care, but I don't want him as my brother-in-law.

"Nice to meet you."

Across from us, Lily cleared her throat loudly. Jessica's face turned annoyed, but she quickly covered it up with a smile and turned to look at Lily and Harper.

"And hi, Lily and Harper! Still friends with Quinn, I see! How are you two?"

Still friends with me? And what the fuck do you mean by that, you bitch? Who the hell invited you back to Brooklyn?

Harper gave Jessica a sickly sweet smile.

"Of course we're still friends with Quinn. She is our best friend and we would stick by her no matter what, and even more so after what happened some years ago."

Lily coughed, but I swore I heard her whisper 'bitch' disguised as a cough. Jessica glared at Harper. Luckily, she didn't hear what Lily whispered.

"So why are you here, Jessica?" I asked loudly, drawing her attention away from Harper.

She looked back at me with another smile.

"I took a job as a teacher at Riverwood High! I heard that you go there and it made me so excited!"

You have got to be kidding. Please tell me I heard wrong, someone!

The door opened, the bell jingle and I quickly look up, hoping for a distraction.

Blake came in, followed by his two best and closest friends; Justin and Liam. I looked over at Harper. Her face had gone red and she was staring at Justin. I smirked.

"Quit staring, Harp, before he looks over," Lily whispered to her, poking Harper in the cheek.

Harper's cheeks turned redder and she tore her eyes away from Justin, who was now sitting at the table behind ours. I giggled quietly. Jessica huffed a little impatiently and gestured for Logan to stand up. She stood up too and said to us, "Well, Logan and I must be going now if I have to get to work on time. Goodbye."

I waved a little. The school is legit just a block away from here, I thought.

Logan and Jessica walked out of the diner and I sighed in relief, moving back to the center of the seat.

"That was awkward," Lily remarked.

"You don't say," I muttered, taking out a twenty from my purse. I trapped the bill under my plate and stood up. "Let's get out of here. I wasn't hungry anyway."

Harper took one last bite of her vanilla yogurt, wiped her mouth, then stood up. She avoided looking at Justin's table. I glanced over and saw two of the boys talking. Though Justin looked distracted for some reason. Blake was looking over at us. I glanced at their table again before following Harper and Lily out.
