As I slipped on a jacket and walked out the door, I got a bunch of texts from Takeru in the group chat. He was spamming us with how we were going to have so much fun and that this would be a great team bonding time. I mean I like his excitement, but sometimes it can be really annoying. So I decided to mute the group chat until I met up with them.
As I got back to the plaza, I noticed that my team wasn't there. I got a text from Mark telling me that Takeru somehow got stuck in his laundry machine and he and Monica are trying to get him out, so it would take a while for them to get here. I didn't mind waiting so I sat at a table and just read a magazine I found. After about a couple of minutes, Yuka walked up to me and sat right across from me.
"Hey Naomi," Yuka said as she took a sip from her cup of coffee. "Where's your team? Shouldn't they be here before you, especially Monica?" She asked confused. I told her that Takeru somehow got stuck in his laundry machine and Mark and Monica are trying to get him out. Yuka was kinda taken back, but not surprised, if that makes any sense. "Where's your team? I honestly thought Masako would be here." I asked Yuka. "She was, but Sara didn't respond to our texts like she usually does, so Masako decided to go investigate what's taking her so long. Clara is over there talking to Claudia" She said as she pointed to Clara.
After a couple of minutes of awkward silence, I decided to try to get to know Yuka more. So I asked her about her team. "Sooooo, how's it like being a part of Lady Purple Team?" I asked her awkwardly but also trying to be social. "It's not so bad. I mean, sometimes their company is really nice, but oftentimes they can get on my nerves, and it's annoying. But that's part of being in Lady Purple Team." Yuka said. "So how about your team?" She then asked me. "Well, similar to you, they can be a little annoying sometimes and a little fun too. Monica and Takeru can be a handful most of the time. The only person I can truly tolerate is Mark~." I said as I began to feel hot. Yuka pointed it out, and I immediately stopped.
Eventually, Masako returned and called for Yuka to come back. "Hey Yuka, Sara's back from looking at memes, we can go now." Masako yelled from the other side of the plaza. Yuka then got up and walked over there. "Nice talking to you Naomi, see you soon." Yuka said as she speed-walked over there. "You too." I said as she left. After Yuka left, my team arrived shortly after. "Monica's sorry we're late, Takeru was really stuck in there." Monica said as she walked towards me. "Yea, sorry I was just really reaching for that shirt^^" Takeru said with a big smile on his face. "Anyways, let's go team!" Monica said as she pointed in a direction. Monica and Takeru went ahead. Mark stood beside me and said, "I can see you've been talking with Yuka." I simply responded, "Yeah, we bonded kinda." After that, we trailed behind Monica and Takeru.
