It took me three days but finally, the apartment was spotless and smelled like flowers and sunshine. Kakashi visited each day and I asked him the same question every time, "when would I see Madara?" Only, of course, to get the same, low effort response of "soon".
By the fifth day, I was tired of staying inside so I ventured out into the village. Rubbing my swollen belly absentmindedly, I made my way through the streets of Konoha. Shops lined the sides; their tenders trying to attract customers.
The village Hashirama and Madara created was now a reality. It was huge with so many different people milling about. I slipped between a crowd muttering 'sorry' and 'excuse me' when necessary.
Emerging on the other side of the gathered people, I realized they were congregating around a blonde-haired boy with whisker-like marks on his cheeks. I quickly moved on, not caring what they were fawning about.
Money had been left on the kitchen counter this morning and I guessed it was to buy food, which I was running low on now.
I finally found a grocery store and squinted upon entering, still trying to get used to the bright, artificial lights.
The number of advertisements made me cringe. So many pictures and descriptions of products were everywhere only in an attempt to get you to buy them.
I ignored them, however, and searched for the necessities like bread, meat, eggs, and rice. After gathering said items, I made my way to the checkout, paid, and left.
The small bell chimed as I opened the door and stepped into the sunlight slamming right into someone.
"Ow!" I exclaimed, almost dropping the grocery bags as a hand grabbed my arm to steady me.
"Sorry, I just noticed that you seemed familiar so I followed you here, ya know?" The person I ran into spoke and I looked up at him. It was the same blonde-haired kid the people were gathered around earlier.
His chakra was so bright and warm it felt like I was standing next to a tiny sun. And, feeling like I was being boiled, I pulled my arm out of his hand and took several steps away from him. "Okay..." I trailed off not knowing what else to say.
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki," The boy extended his hand for me to shake, and I did. Something about him seemed familiar... He reminded me of Hashirama in chakra and personality. "I think I remember you but I don't know from where, ya know?"
"I'm Lea Uchiha," I answered him.
He put a hand to his chin in thought. "Ah! You're the time travel girl!" He exclaimed after a few seconds. In seeing my confused expression, he continued, "I was also there when you fell out of the sky, ya know?"
"Oh..." I whispered. "It was nice to meet you, Naruto, but I need to get back to my apartment." I gave a curt nod then turned to walk away.
"Wait! I have some questions for you!" He continued talking while walking next to me and I picked up my pace. "Why did you come from the past?"
