There's Another One?!

Mission impossible

Jay and Rose woke up the next morning as usual; it was Saturday, the day before rose's competition. They were both sat in the living area eating breakfast, jay had work today and the day off tomorrow. "You nervous for tomorrow kiddo? Still not gonna ruin the surprise?" Jay said like a little kid. "Kinda but my mouths staying shut" she confirmed and laughed. "Okay then, imma head out for work, stay home unless you need to do anything urgent. Text me if you need me" he said before leaving out of the door. She laughed evilly when he left and she grabbed her phone straight away, she scrolled through her contacts and clicked on haileys number to to text her.
Rose: "Haillleeeyyyyyy"
Hailey: "Rose? You okay?"
Rose: "yeah I'm good, I was wondering if I could come down to the station later to talk to you. I need a favour"
Hailey: "Will jay kill me if I help you?"
Rose: "Nope, just think of it as our mission impossible"
Hailey: "sounds fun. Text me when you're coming down and I'll meet you downstairs, are you wanting avoid jay?"
Rose: "if that's even possible, then yeah"
Hailey: "sure thing, see you later rose :)"
Rose: "see you later"
She had a plan, something that would make jay smile. Rose was sat watching moana when Ava called her, she stared at the screen thinking something was wrong so she grabbed her phone and answered it quickly.
Rose: "Hey Ava, everything okay?"
Ava: "Yeah, I'm all good just calling to see how you are, have thought about the party yet?"
Rose: "I did, I still feel the same way. Truth is you know how protective my brothers are, especially jay. I just got them back not that long ago, I don't wanna lose their trust. I know what goes down at those parties ava, I really don't want you going either, but I can't stop you"
Ava: "yeah I hear you, the parties been moved till Tuesday evening next week anyways. Soooooo, that gives you a few more days to re-think your decision, you won't regret it."
Rose: "I'll think about it, I can't make any promises though."
Ava: "you're the best, oh, I gotta go, love you bye!"
Rose: "love you, bye"
That was the truth, she didn't want to go after what happened last time, she didn't want Ava going either but she couldn't physically stop her so she would just have to wait and see.
She spent the day watching films, cleaning up, she even managed to fit in a quick workout and get a shower. It was around 7pm and she knew that jay didn't finish work until around 8:30-9pm on the weekends so she decided to text hailey.
Rose: "hey hailey, am I okay to come see you now or are you busy?"
Hailey: "Right now is perfect, I'm free but jays got a lot of paper work to do so if we're sneaky we shouldn't get caught"
Rose: "okay, great. I'll come down now, I'll text you when I'm outside"
Hailey: "okay Rose meet me round back, be safe!"
Rose: ";)"
Rose quickly threw her hair into a messy bun, put on a black jacket and left the apartment locking the door behind her. Since she was in sports wear she decided to run, it took her around 5 minutes but she eventually got there.
Rose: "hey, I'm round the back"
Hailey: "on my way"
Hailey got up from her desk, "hey sarge I'm gonna go give Trudy some forms. I'll be back in a few minutes" she excused herself from the bullpen. "Yeah sure" Hank said not too bothered. She grabbed a few random pieces of paper off of her desk to make jay think that's where she was really going, she smiled at him before leaving to go let rose into the station. They decided to meet in the back room where the cage was because it was the only place in the station where there wasn't a single camera in sight. "Hey rose, what you needing?" hailey said while leading her to a chair. Rose sat down and explained, "so basically, last night I went to dance class and I came home to find jay and Will really angry" hailey looked worried and confused. "Jay thought I was a stripper since ava told him that I was dancing, he forgot stripping wasn't the only kind of dance" hailey laughed. "So when we cleared up that I wasn't a stripper and I done other kinds of dance, we sat and talked about them two since I didn't really know that much about them still" hailey nodded following along. "When I found out jay was in the rangers, I kinda told them I have a dance competition tomorrow..." hailey looked shocked.
"I didn't know you danced?" Hailey said smiling. "No neither did my brothers, I didn't tell them. Guess that didn't last long though" Rose scoffed. "So why'd you need me?" Hailey said curious. "Well, I told Jay that he would have to wait and see why I was so happy about finding out that he was in the military" Rose looked scared. "So this is where you come in, I told them both that they had to come to watch me and my team compete. Truth is, I have a solo tomorrow!" She squealed in excitement. Hailey smiled happily for her but she still had no clue why she needed her help. "I need jays Velcro name tags off of his vest..." Rose admitted. "Look my solo's called soldier, I figured it would be a nice way to thank Jay for his service by attaching his tags onto my costume..." she looked down to her feet not knowing if it was a good idea or not.
Hailey dropped down to rose's eye level, "he's gonna love that. Just double checking though, he doesn't know about this?" Hailey enquired before agreeing to help. "Nope, he doesn't suspect a thing" she laughed. They were both interrupted by the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs, they sounded a lot like jays footsteps, "uh oh" she whispered to Rose before shoving her in a locker in attempt to hide her.
Jay appeared at the door looking suspicious, "who were you talking to?" He said looking at hailey. "No one, I wasn't talking to anyone..." she replied back sharply which made Rose panick in the locker in case he found her. "You sure? I'm pretty sure I heard you talking..." he said not believing her one bit. "Positive" she said before smiling at jay unconvincingly. "If you say so..." he said scanning the room thoroughly before turning to leave slowly. Rose let out a deep breath as she heard the door close again, she stayed in the locker until the coast was clear and hailey helped her out. "That was close, so are you in?" Rose said excitedly. "I'm in, I'll wait until jays left the station after work and I'll run back down here, get the tags then leave. Oh and about tomorrow, I'll be there. Text me the address" she said smiling in approval.
Rose hugged hailey, she loved her. "You better get going in case he comes back. See you tomorrow kiddo, oh and good luck!" She said before letting Rose go. She left quickly and quietly, she ran back home, got another shower and got into her PJ's again before crashing down on the couch to put on another film before jay got home. She finished her homework right when Jay walked through the door, "hey rose, what you up to" he said while taking his jacket off and hanging it up, "hey jay, I just finished my homework, there's some dinner in the microwave for you to warm up" she said smiling at him. "You're my hero, you know that?" He said while running to the microwave. She just laughed and nodded, her thoughts were interrupted by a ping coming from her phone that was on charge in the corner. She jumped up quickly hoping it was hailey updating her.
Hailey: "got the final accessory"
Rose: "you just completed my life"
Hailey: "anything for you"
Rose: "I appreciate it so much, the competition is at a university, I'll text you the link now"
Hailey: "see you there rose!"
Rose: "see you then :)"
She smiled at her phone and put it down, still smiling she made her way back over to the couch, jay was staring at her in suspicion. "Was that a boy?" He said smirking at her, "what?! No, it wasn't a boy" she defended herself. He raised his eyebrow not believing her, "coz if it was, I'll kill him and then you" she laughed and shook her head. Jay joined her on the couch and they watched a film together, "is Will coming with us tomorrow?" She said quiet. "Yeah, why wouldn't he be?" Jay said in confusion. She smiled and shrugged, "just checking". It was 11pm and they decided to go to bed since they had to be up early in the morning, "night jay" she shouted from her room. "Night rose" he shouted back from his and they both laughed before falling asleep.
