The Wedding Planer

Chapter 2: Shopping

Today we are going shopping for Kelly and Griffin.
I think it'll be awkward between Griffin and I because of what happened a couple of days ago, but nonetheless I will plan their wedding.
When I arrive at my office a familiar face is there,
"Well hello Fletcher, what brings you here?" I ask.
"Good morning Dixie, I came for an interview" He says.
"Noah is at-" But he cuts me off mid sentence.
"I actually came to visit you"
"Oh" I say.
He holds his camera up and says,
"I know that you are a wedding planner now and business is booming but is there anyway that you will continue your music career?" He asks.
"Maybe, I'll talk to my family and see if it's a good investment, I mean I have to run this place" I answer.
"Speaking of this business, I hear you are planning Griffin Johnson's wedding to Kelly Osbourne. Is that at all awkward?" He asks, this is why I don't like talking to paparazzi.
"Uhh no, I mean Griffin will always have a place in my heart, he was my first love so yeah, but no. There is no awkwardness between us, he loves Kelly, and I'm happy for them" i answer.
"Well because you are planning their wedding, can you give us anything?" He asks.
"No, that is between them, it is not my place to say anything" I answer, this guy needs a vacation.
"Ok, well thanks for your time, I can't wait for a song" He says.
"Bye" I say.
I walk into my office and Noah is sitting on my couch,
"Well thank you so much for helping me with Fletcher" I say sarcastically.
"I'm sorry, he wouldn't leave without seeing you" He says.
"Whatever, can you go wait for Kelly and Griffin please" I say.
"Ok, see you soon" He says walking out my door.
I get a phone call form Charli,
"Hey Charli" I say.
"Hi, I have to tell you something..." She say.
"Well you know how I'm 22 and Chase is 24, and we got married like two years ago in on the 10th of July..." Charli says.
"Yeah" I say.
"Well, your going to be an aunt..." She says.
I stand there for a few seconds then my emotions kick in.
"OH MY GOD! IM GONNA BE A AUNT!?" I squeal.
"Yeah, Aunty Dix, how's that sound?" She asks.
"That sounds amazing, aww Char Char, I'm so happy for you" I say.
"Thank you, I'll talk to you later okay, I know your working" She says.
"Ok bye, I love you" I say.
"Love you too" She says.
I hang up and run out to Noah,
"I'm gonna be an Aunt!" I squeal.
And than I see Griffin and Kelly.
"Oh, hi" I say awkwardly.
"Congratulations"Kelly says.
"Thank you" I say smiling.
"Aww, Aunty Dix, I can't wait till you have your own kids, than it'll be Aunty Char Char and Uncle Noah" Noah says hugging me.
"I don't know, no one wants me" I say putting my head down.
I remember that Griffin and Kelly were there so I shift and look up at them.
"Sorry, are you guys ready?" I ask.
"Yeah" Kelly says.
"Okay, well, my friend Christina is a dress maker so I'll take you there and her brother Will makes suits so I'll take you there Griffin" I explain and they both nod.
"Do you want to give us the address or are we going in one car?" Kelly asks.
"Um, it's 10 minutes to Christina's and another 10 minutes to Will's so we can walk" I say.
"Okay" Kelly answers.
I look at Griffin and he is looking at his phone, yawning. Whatever.
"Okay let me get my stuff and we can go" I say.
I go back into my office and get my bag, wallet, phone and my rechargeable phone case.
When I wake out I see Griffin and Kelly making out, I stop and feel pain flood through me, I stumble back and Noah comes to my side,
"You ok Dix?" He asks.
Griffin looks concerned and Kelly looks frustrated so I say,
"Yeah, just realised that I am going to be an aunt"
He laugh but still holds my arm, he gives me a look that says we will talk later.
I nod and we walk to the elevator, I go on my phone and check my emails while Griffin and Kelly hold hands and smile at each other.
We get out and start to walk to Christina's.
"Aunty Dix!" I hear.
I see Charlotte run up to me, I pick her up and kiss her all over her face, she giggles and I smile.
"Where is Mommy?" I ask her, Christina is my best friend and I'm the god mother of Charlotte.
"She is making your wedding dress. Oops, I wasn't supposed to say that, please don't tell her I said that" She says.
"I pinky promise" I say holding my pinky out, she takes it.
"Okay well I have a client for her, do you mid getting her for me?" I ask.
"Not at all Aunty Dix" She says running off to the back.
"I didn't know you were getting married" Griffin says.
"I'm not, Christina is just doing this to tease me about not having a boyfriend or a special someone, because no one wants me" I whisper the last part.
"My lovely best friend" Chris says holding her arms out for me to hug her, I do and say,
"This is Kelly and her fiance Griffin" She shakes their hands and says,
"It is a pleasure to meet the both of you, congratulations"
"Thank you" Kelly says smiling.
"Well Kelly needs a dress" I say.
"Well I can help you with that. What about the bridesmaids and flower girl?" She asks.
"They are coming in-" Just than I see Charli, Addison, Avani, Mads, Nessa, and her mom walk in.
"Oh, these must be them" Christina says.
"Yes" Kelly answers.
They all greet Kelly, than they see me.
"DIXIE!?" They all yell at the same time.
I cover my ears and say,
"Hi"
They all run up to me and hug me except Charli and Kelly's mom who looks at me disgusted
"How are you, we haven't spoke since you quit social media" Addison says.
"I didn't quit, I just time a vacation from it" I explain, "anyways, you guys need to  stay here and get sorted while I take Griffin to my friend's place to find a suit for him and the groomsmen" I say.
"Okay, well we should meet up soon" Avani says.
"Okay, just get my number off of Charli" I say hugging all of them.
Griffin and I walk out the door, and when we are away from Christina's shop, he asks
"Why didn't you keep in touch with your friends?"
I scoff, "That is none of your business, just let me take you to Will's and he can help you"
"Fine, I was just trying to make conversation" He says.
"Well you don't need to, we aren't friends, you made it pretty clear earlier" I tell him, I stop in front of him and look him in the eyes,
"I loved you, and I'm sorry that you still get hate, if you want, I can say something about it" I say.
"You don't have to, you seemed pretty happy to let it slide after our break up" He says.
Tears well up in my eyes,
"You know what, fuck you" I say.
"You already did" He says.
A tear tricked down my face, he moves his hand and tries to wipe my cheek but I move my head and I look up at him,
"Why don't we just not talk to each other, you hate me. Let's keep it that way" I say and start walking.
I hear him walk up behind me and we walk in silence.
Until he breaks it,
"Just for the record, I don't hate you"
"It seems like you do and that is fine" I say walking faster.
I feel him grab my arm and tàke me to a alleyway.
"What do you think your doing!?" I ask him.
"I don't hate you, I will never hate you, I don't care about the hate. I'm sorry I'm acting like this" He says.
I nod and start to move but he pushes me against the wall, he gets close to my face and whisper in my ear,
"Please say you forgive me"
I feel his hot breath against me skin, I feel myself start to give in so I nod.
He smiles, we are about a inch away from each other's lips, I start to think about what it would feel like to kiss his lips, but than I remember he is getting married.
"What are you doing?" I whisper.
He looks at me and tilts his head, "What do you mean?" He asks.
"Why are you not moving, I know you hate me" I answer whispering. I look down at my feet and my eyes start to well up with tears.
"Hey, look at me" He whispers.
I don't so he repeats it, "Look at me Dixie"
That is the first time I have heard him say my name, but I still don't look at him.
I feel him put his hand under my chin and he makes me look him in the eye.
"I do not hate you, I could never hate you, and I will never hate you, do you understand me?" He asks.
I don't say or do anything.
"Damn it! Why do you have to be so difficult. I don't fucking hate you! I will never hate you! Why can't you see that!?" He yells at me.
I get scared and he can see that because he whispers sorry.
"Because no matter what I believe or think, it will not take me back in time to when we were together, to the time when I got those screenshots. I should have believed you, but I was being stubborn, and look at what has happened" I say.
"What has happened?" He says.
I take a deep breath,
"I lost the love of my life, forever now. But it doesn't matter, Kelly loves you and you love Kelly, and there's nothing I can do about it but plan your wedding" I whisper, my voice cracked so many times throughout the little speech.
He looks at me,
"You will find someone better than me, I know that at any moment, you could have all the boys on their knees begging for you" He says.
"But the one I want doesn't want me. I don't think he ever will" I whisper looking down.
"If you had said all of this years ago I would have gone back to you in a heartbeat, but I am engaged to Kelly" He says.
"It doesn't matter, I don't matter. This is about you and Kelly, not me. I'm only here to plan your wedding and than never come back into your lives. That's all I'll ever be to anyone. Anyway, Will will be wondering where we are so let's go" I say fixing my dress.
"Okay" He says.
"And don't worry, I won't tell anyone about this" I tell him.
He nods.
We get to Will's and he kisses my cheeks and hugs me.
He shakes Griffin's hand and we start to look for suits.
I see all the boys and we all exchange numbers and arrange for us to meet up tomorrow night at a club with the girls.
I feel tiered so I lay down on the couch.
I feel someone put a blanket on me.
Without thinking I whisper,
"You are the love of my life Griffin Johnson, you always have been and always will be..."
I start to doze off but than I hear Griffin's voice,
"Your the love of my life Dixie D'Amelio, you will never and can never be replaced. Sleep tight my love"
I smile and doze off.
