Chapter 11: Just To Be Sure

When I wake up Griffin tells me his parents are leaving in an hour. I got up, brushed my teeth and hair, then got dressed.
When I walked out of the bathroom Griffin was in his jeans and a white shirt.
"Good morning baby" He says.
"Good morning bub" I say, leaning in to kiss him.
"I love you" He says.
"I love you to" I say.
We walk hand in hand downstairs to where his parents had prepared breakfast for us.
We thank them and eat.
As we were saying our goodbyes, Griffin helps Jarred with their stuff.
"You know Dixie, I haven't seen my son this happy in a while. I think it was when you two were dating for the first time" Amie says as we stand on the porch looking out over the hills.
"Yeah, I'm happy he's happy. I love him, I really do" I say.
"I know you do. And I know he does as well. Do you see yourself spending the rest of your life with him?" She asks.
"Of course. I can't imagine not having him, when he and I broke up I just wanted to forget about everything, that's why Noah and I got together so fast, I didn't want to feel like something was missing" I answer truthfully.
"Well that's great. You know we think of you as family right?" She says.
"Yeah, and I think of you guys as family as well" I say.
"That great, I also wanted to give you this" She says. She reaches into her purse and gets out a pregnancy test.
"I don't think I need that" I say blushing.
"Maybe you do. I don't want to make things uncomfortable between us but I have noticed your breasts are larger than they were in pictures before you and Griffin were dating. Have you been having abdomen pains?" She asks.
"Yeah, but it only lasts an hour or two" I answer.
She nods, "Just take the test. It may be you growing into your body more or not. I know this might be uncomfortable right now but I just want you to be safe" She says.
"Of course, I'll talk to Griffin and take the test. Thank you though" I say.
"Of course, thank you for giving my son a second chance. I really see you two staying together" She says.
I smile and hug her.
Griffin and Jarred come back up, we say goodbye and they leave.
"Griffin?" I say turning to him.
"Yeah?" He says.
"Are you okay with me taking a pregnancy test?" I ask.
"Of course, why, do you think your pregnant?" He says.
"Not necessarily, your Mom does though and she gave me one. I just want to be sure" I say.
"Okay, well you can go take it" He says.
I got to the bathroom downstairs and pee on the stick. Once I'm finished I go back out to Griffin.
We clean up and watch some TV.
I wasn't very worried, I don't think I'm pregnant, I can tell Griffin is getting more anxious though.
"It's okay baby" I say.
"Thanks bub" He says, He puts his hand on my thigh.
After three minutes we go check it.
It has two lines that are as clear as day.
"Oh my goodness" I mumble.
Griffin just stands there, shocked.
"Baby?" I whisper.
Next thing I know, Griffin is wrapping his arms around me tightly.
"I love you okay? I think before we get too excited or worried, we go to a doctor" He says.
"Yeah, that seems like the best thing to do" I say.
We stand there for a while, doing nothing but hold onto each other.
We decided to make an appointment for me today with my doctor.
