Shuichi did a pretty good job at hiding it. When he was younger his uncle had abused him, his uncle broke Shuichi's middle bone in his left hand causing it to never move again.

Shuichi goes out of his way to find anyway possible to hide from the others that he was abused.

When he picks things up he only uses his right hand, he hides his hand in his pocket, hides it behind his back,etc.

He assumed that nobody noticed or nobody cared.

Shuichi headed back to his dorm, looking down at his feet.

(Kaito's POV)

I watch as Shuichi walks over to his dorm. 'Why is he always hiding his left hand? That makes no sense.' I thought about it for a while. I mean, no one would hide their hand for no reason???

I wonder what he's hiding. I'll ask him durning training.

Shuichi shoves his hand in his pocket as he heard the doorbell ring. "I'm coming!" He quickly gets up and opens the door.

"Hi Momo- Kaito." Shuichi smiles sheepishly. "Hey sidekick!" Kaito smiled bright. He can make anyone happy with his smile, Shuichi especially.

Kaito and Shuichi had reached the training ground. Maki was waiting for the two.

While they were training Kaito looked over at Shuichi.

"Hey bro, how come you always hide your hand?" Shuichi sat there with a blank expression, kaito thought he broke Shuichi.

"..." Shuichi didn't know how to put it into words. "W-well,,,u-uh sooo." Kaito broke Shuichi

"You don't have to say it if you aren't comfortable yet." Kaito gave him a smile.

Shuichi slowly moved his left hand from behind his head.

"I-I'm not ready to go into details about who did this and how it happened but my middle bone in my hand was broken so now I can't move my middle finger now."

Shuichi hides his face.

"If you think of it in a positive way you can flip people of whenever you want." Shuichi smiled, he thought that was stupid but the fact that kaito was going out of his way to try to make a bad situation good was sweet.

The rest of the training was nice, we spent the rest of the time looking at the stars.
