"While everyone's lost, the battle is won" — The Killers
A few months have passed since the case involving the murders of prostitutes in D.C. area; the unsub claimed himself as a vigilante, he was convinced he had to get rid of the sex workers in order to clean the streets. But the BAU unit was able to stop him. Following that, the team has been through bitter days.
While making a visit to his family in Chicago, Morgan's accused by the local police of murdering three young boys, so the Agents have to intervene and investigate the crimes to find the true killer and exonerate their coworker.
After the Super Bowl, the team promptly begins chasing the responsible for the brutal slaughter of a wealthy couple and the pursuit becomes urgent once they realize the unsub has taken Reid captive. Therefore, Spencer hasn't been the same. He refuses to talk properly about what happened in the hours he spent with the serial killer Tobias Hankle. He's acting distant, constantly swallowing hard with an absent look on his face. The Agents know he had been tortured and drugged, but not the extensions of the event.
The first night back to Virginia, Amy spent the night at Reid's apartment, unwilling to leave her best friend alone. She's been worried and has, more than once, offered to sit and listen about Spencer's anguishes, knowing too well that feelings couldn't be bottled up without making a person break. But sensing his distress, she's giving him space and time, making clear that she would be there to talk when he's ready.
Furthermore, the unit's chief is acting more demanding and stern than ever; he's arriving early to work and leaving later than usual. His mouth like a frozen line on his face, only moving to give orders and not bothering to show a slightly polite smile. His frown is now static and harder, like a manifestation of constant displeasure.
So it is needless to say every member of the team is suffering with mental strain, and they are trying to overcome the tension in their individual ways. For Amelia, the solution is hours of therapy and humor.

At the moment, Amy, Derek, Emily and Spencer are casually talking and joking among themselves, in their respective desks which are near one another. Penelope gathers with them to catch up with her favorite profilers - and, of course, to gossip a little too or how would she survive another day of work without needed distractions?
Since they still have a few minutes of lunch break before starting to worry about their paperwork, they are in a serious game of 'Bang, Marry, Shoot'. Reid is the only one who decided to merely watch and listen since he would always get flushed while discussing those things.
"Okay, now a new one just for the girls," Garcia speaks excitedly while looking back and forth between Amelia and Emily, "Hotch, Rossi and Chocolate Thunder," she uses Morgan's nickname and sends him a mischievous smile. Now being one of the options, Derek's more than curious to know the girl's answers.
"I don't want to increase his cocky attitude," Emily starts to reply and points to Morgan with her head, "So I will have to say; shoot Derek, bang Hotch and marry Rossi," the woman gives her response proudly.
"That one is easy," Amy declares while sitting in her chair with her arms crossed and smirking, "Shoot Hotchner, obviously. Bang Morgan and becoming the fourth Mrs. Rossi," her remark causes the agents to laugh, even Reid displays a shy smile.
"I know you would like to get a taste of me, Davis," Derek slyly comments and licks his bottom lip, content with himself.
"Oh please, I would rock your world," Amelia uncross her arms and pushes her body closer to her coworker attempting to flirt.
"No no, I don't like this. I'm starting to get jealous of this interaction," Penelope whines, faking annoyance.
Amy smiles and looks straight to Garcia's eyes and adds with a shaking of her shoulders, "I don't rule out the idea of a threesome." That instigates a blush to Penelope's cheeks; Spencer's mouth opens while his eyes widen and Morgan and Emily giggle.
"Okay okay, I've got another one," Prentiss announces, "Hotch, Anderson and that creepy guy with that giant mole from security."
"Interesting one," Amy utters and puts her right hand on her chin appearing to think deeply, after a few seconds she says: "Marry Anderson, bang the mole guy and Hotchner will always be my victim," she assures grinning, not realizing the looks that her team are giving to her a sudden tall dark figure behind Davis.
"I hope you mean in a hypothetical situation, Agent Davis," Amelia hears an acid grunt coming from her back so she immediately gets up from her chair, turning around and coming face to face with her scowling boss.
Amy puts her right hand over her heart and quickly assures, "Of course it is, boss. It would hurt me deeply to even think about you being harmed in some way, sir," she mocks.
The black haired man clenches his jaw, glares at the woman in front of him and speaks in a flat tone, "You're awfully amusing, Agent. Maybe you should consider pursuing a comedian career. It would certainly suit you," his voice like a strident sound to Amelia's ears.
"I'm glad you appreciate my sense of humor, boss," Amy provokes and fakes an innocent smile.
The two keep staring daggers at each other and the tension so thick that it could easily be slashed with a knife while the rest of the team pretends not to watch the quarrel. After some excruciating seconds, Hotch breaks the silence not breaking eye contact with Amelia, "Conference room in five minutes please, agents," he ends and promptly leaves.
Once the boss is out of earshot the cackles while a red faced Davis releases a short sigh hissing through her teeth, "That man is insufferable."
A/N: What do you think?? I know it's not much but I'm trying not to rush into the story. I would love to know your opinions! :)
