MARIE AND PETER PETTIGREW ARE COMPLETE OPPOSITES. While Marie thrived under pressure and embodied the bravery of a Gryffindor. Peter remained in the shadows, perfectly content with his twin sister taking the lead. Allowing her to stand up for their friends, and have the spotlight while he stood to the side safe from harm.

Perhaps this is why she quickly became Hogwarts golden girl, the heart of every boy at the magical school resting in the palm of her hand. Though one of those hearts truly mattered to Marie, and it belonged to Sirius Black. It came to no ones surprise when the pair started dating, for it just made sense. The schools heart throb and the flirt, they just worked, just clicked. They were Marie and Sirius, Sirius and Marie, the schools favorite couple the one everyone thought would last. For they were so in love, anyone could see it. Until they weren't.

One intoxicated night, a pack of cigarettes, and a screaming match in the common room was all it took, and Sirius and Marie were no more.

Tensions within their large group of friends were high following the breakup. For despite Sirius and Marie's efforts to act as though neither of them were effected by the split, their lingering glances, and jealous stares upon the both of them returning to their flirtatious ways said otherwise.

But that was months ago, and having spent a Summer apart, surely the tension between the pair will have faded, and the Hogwarts heart throbs will be back together by Christmas.
Or so everyone assumed, but it's crazy the effect a certain bespeckled boy can have.

For James Potter has always been uneasy around Marie. His heart would flutter when they brushed hands, his cheeks would redden whenever she would jump on his back in the middle of the hallway. But he never made a move, for just as eleven year old James began to come to the realization he had feelings for the girl, Sirius came barging into their dorm announcing he was hopeless and utterly in love with Marie Susan Pettigrew.

James tried to back off, burying his feelings for the girl beneath his false love for his Lilyflower. But when he heard about the golden couples breakup, all the feelings that he had been trying to deny since first year came rushing back, stronger, more intense then before. But he couldn't make a move, she was his best mates ex, not to mention his other best mates sister! Surely that meant she was off limits! Unless...
