IzuJiro: Schools in, Rock out

Chapter 2

Jirou's POV

I can't believe it, Green Valley is in my class. I've been listening to him since he was just doing song covers on YouTube, I have a ton of his albums and a few posters and shirts. I wonder if i could get his autograph, but it's so nerve racking being in the same room as him, how am i gonna be able to talk to him, especially after my outburst before. I mentally facepalm as I'm stuck in though and don't notice Mr Aizawa calling me until I feel a tap on my shoulder and see Kaminari pointing to the front.

"Jiro, glad to have you back from the dead, can you tell me the correct answer?" Mr Aizawa says. I stare at the board and think before hanging my head in defeat. "No sir, sorry" I replied sheepishly. "You need to focus, maybe you and Midoriya can learn that in detention after school today," he said, giving a cold glare. "Yes sir" I say In unison with someone behind me. I check my left and see Green Valley smile and wave at me, I feel my cheeks get hot and I slowly wave back before turning my attention to the teacher again and trying to pay attention, which proved harder than I thought. I could feel a pair of eyes trained on my back.

The day flows by slowly, at lunch I was sitting with my friends and saw the crowd around Green Valley, he was signing pictures and taking selfies. I wish i had the courage to go over to him and ask for a picture but i couldn't. "Hey Jirou you've been staring at Midoriya for a while, are you ok?" Kaminari asks. "Awww Does Jirou have a celebrity crush?" Mina teases and I glare at her. "You know I love music and I've been listening to him since before he signed with his record, I'm debating how to go and ask him for an autograph" I reply trying to hide my embarrassment. "So just go ask, he's a person too, it's not like he's a supernatural creature that shouldn't be approached" Kaminari muffles around a mouth full of food. "You're right, you actually said something useful for once Denki" I say, getting up with some unknown source of confidence.

I stand in the crowd and slowly make my way to the front but when I get in front of him I turn into a blushing mess. He looks at me and smiles, "Oh hey, uh Jirou, right?, nice to officially meet you" he says reaching out a hand. 'Come on do something Kyoka' I urge myself, I reach out and shake his hand and smile. "H...Hi um, co...could you sign this?" I ask him, handing him a CD case from his latest album, 'damn it why am I stuttering'. "Yeah no problem" he grabs the case and signs it before handing it back to me, "so ready for this afternoon?" he asks casually. "What are you doing with her this afternoon?" a random girl, who seems to have been by his side the whole time, asks glaring at me. "Oh we both have detention for dozing off in class" he explains and the girls around him relax a bit but still give me weird looks. "Anyway I'll see you in class, thanks for the autograph" I say rushing away before I can make myself look dumb. "Yeah see you" he called out.

I made it back to the table and saw everyone smiling at my blushing state, "Not a word" I grit my teeth at them. I place my head on the table as they continue doing whatever they were doing before. 'What was that girl's problem?, probably just another clingy fan who wants to have him all to herself' I think to myself, almost too absorbed in my thoughts to notice the bell. "Let's just get today over with" I grumble to myself.

The afternoon classes aren't much different, trying to pay attention while ignoring the urge to turn around and look at the green haired boy behind me. The lessons drag on and on, from Mr Yamada's English class (Present Mic in canon and on his part time radio show) to Mrs Kayama's History class (Midnight in canon) but the last bell finally rings. I absentmindedly start waking out when a hand stops me, "I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure we shouldn't skip detention" the person says. I turn around and see Green valley, or Midoriya, I don't know what to call him at this point. I blush at the fact that we were standing close together which he seems to notice.

"Oh sorry didn't mean to make you uncomfortable" he says, giving me some space, "but anyway i was just saying Mr Aizawa might not like it if you leave and skip detention" he says walking back to his seat. "Yeah thanks I was just spaced out" I say sitting back in my seat.

Mr Aizawa came in and told us we were just going to sit in here for the next 2 hours we could do homework or whatever. He then proceeded to get in his sleeping bag and fall asleep in the corner. We just sit in silence for a while, every small sound seemingly magnified. "So you like music?" I hear behind me, I turn and stare at the green hair boy for a few seconds. "What?" I ask. "I asked if you like music," he smiles. "Music, uh yes sorry, my parents are musicians so they taught me music since i was young" I tell him. "Cool, so do you do music here at school too?" he inquires. "Uh no, the school doesn't have much in the way of music but it's still enjoyable to go hear". "What, that's stupid, we should talk to Nezu to see if he could add a music studio or something" he remarks as he starts muttering, something I'd seen him do in some vlogs. "Well apparently people have tried bu..". "What do we put on a show, a music show or maybe....a battle" he says, an excited glint flashing in his eyes.

"A Battle?" I ask, wondering what he's thinking. "A battle of the bands, anyone who can play can join and that way we can show Nezu that music has a beneficial influence" he says excitedly. "That.....that might work and either way it would be really fun" I say. "We should tell Nezu, I'm sure he would support the idea". "We could ask to use the TDL" I chime. (Training, Dining land or training ground Gamma)

We spent the rest of detention talking about the Battle of the bands and what we should have. Before we left Green valley or Izuku as he insisted I called him, and I swapped numbers. I can't believe it, I have Green Valley's number, I was so happy I basically skipped home, which is unusual for me. I was really excited for the Battle, I want to show everyone what I've got, especially Izuku.
