Woohooo! New update... also if you people need my pronouns for something they are he/him.

I had this random motivation after my father told me that he ordered pizza from Chicago...I live in Oregon. It arrives in March.

{The Blade's POV}(who could've guessed)

I woke with a start, for real this time. There was cold sweat dripping from my body and as I looked out the relatively large window in the room I realized that it was still dark out, most likely in the early hours of the morning.

I noticed that I was shaking as the dream I had came flooding back to me, the memories I had tried so hard to forget and push from my mind invaded my thoughts. Without realizing it tears stated to form in my eyes and fall onto my hand as I cried for the first time in years, since I had started hiding my emotions.

As the memories all came back there was one thing I couldn't remember, his name. In the village that we lived in children were called by their middle names until the turned fifteen. It was an odd tradition, really.

His middle name was...Clay? That sounds right but I had no way of knowing what his actual first name was since it was taboo to speak about it before the coming of age ceremony. In some cases the children didn't even know their own first name.

I decided that I had to get up and do something to get my mind off of everything. A walk in the garden. That sounds nice.

I dawned my signature outfit but decided to leave the cloak off since it was fairly warm in this kingdom, even at around three in the morning.

I stepped out on to the patio and hopped the small guard rail fence onto the grass that was slightly below.

"Hello there, your majesty." I heard a voice say from behind me as I was walking by the fountain. I turned around quickly and saw someone unexpected. It was Dream. One thing was off though, he seemed happier than before.

"Hello Dream," I replied but shake the feeling that this had happened before. "Would you like to walk with me?" I questioned. I would not usually be open to having a companion but I decided I needed someone to talk to that wouldn't go into full on 'mother hen mode'.

"Sure, that would be nice." he said seeming to smile behind the mask but one could not be sure. "Sorry about before, I was not in the best of moods" he apologized, scratching the back of his head.

"It was no problem, I don't really want to be here either" I said chuckling slightly, laughed a light laugh that seemed so familiar but alas I could not place it once more. We walked around the fountain and sat on a bench that overlooked the rest of the gardens.

"You seem stressed, is there anything I can help you with?" he questioned sounding slightly concerned. I looked over to him, I wish I could see his face but I don't want to come off as rude.

"You could braid my hair if you would like," I say softly, he moved his mask slightly so I could see his mouth and he smiled at me.

I turned to the side so he could access my shoulder length pink hair better. He ran his fingers through it gently, it was calming and he seemed to know what he was doing. He hummed as he worked I recognized it as the song 'one more light' by Linkin Park so I decided to hum along.

"Who cares if one more light goes out in the sky of a million stars" he quietly sang and his singing voice was beautiful. "It flickers, flickers"

"Who cares when someone's time runs out if a moment is all we are" I joined him for this verse, our voices combining to make a melody that if anyone heard they would be mesmerized. He looked over at me slightly surprised. "Or quicker, quicker"

"Who cares if one more light goes out, well I do" we faced each other seeming to sync feelings for a brief moment, "well I do..."

"You know that song too?" Dream asked softly voice seeming sad, as he looked into my eyes through the mask.

"Yeah, an old friend taught it to me," I responded solemnly my voice matching the quiet of his recounting the memory of my old friend and love. When I looked back over to him he seemed lost in thought, staring up slightly at the stars overhead.

"I'm guessing you're out here because of nightmares as well," he said after a while still staring at the night sky above, I was slightly taken aback, how did he know I thought to myself.

"Yeah, how did you know?" I inquired, he looked back at me sadly even though I couldn't see his face I could practically sense his emotions which was odd but felt nice.

"You remind me of someone I used to know" he replied. I just nodded, deciding not to press it. We watched the stars for a while longer before he eventually fell asleep on my shoulder, I didn't want to move him seeing as though he was so peaceful.

I felt my body grow more tired and my consciousness slipping away as I drifted into a comfortable sleep listening to the soft breathing of the sleeping blonde boy who was leaning on me.
