{Authors Note}
Sorry this took a while, I was not super motivated to write this story. Also, have any of you seen Bungo Stray Dogs? It's definitely one of my favorites along with Soul Eater and The Ones Within/Naka no Hito Genome [jikkyouchuu].
I had to go back and reread this to write some parts of this chapter.
Also also, does anyone know the band Set It Off? They're my all time favorite band and I was wondering if anyone knows them, if you don't you should check out their music.
Oh yeah, my online name thing is Yukashi.
{Fundy's POV}
I was weaving my way through the large crowd, pickpocketing any loose cash on the tourists' persons. It was the day before the tournament to decide who would have the so-called 'Blood God's hand in marriage so there were a large number of people that wanted to watch the events. It was the perfect time to steal. I may be only thirteen but you have to do what you have to do to survive.
I had my hood up so no one would see my fox-like ears because the were the reason I was left on the streets. After a while of grabbing stray cash from peoples' pockets I had about fifty dollars. That should be enough to pay for the motel room, but what could I get to eat, all the shop owners have ramped up prices because of the festival.
I saw a guy in a yellow turtle neck with a tan trench coat over it, he had a burgundy beanie covering his messy brown hair. There was some money sticking out of one of the many pockets on his long coat.
Perfect.
I walked right up to him, bumped into his side on purpose and snatched the green paper right out of his pocket. As I was about to retract my hand but he seemed to notice my ruse and caught my wrist.
"What do you think you're doing, kid?" The man said his voice was cold and intimidating. It was frightening. His deep brown eyes had a reddish glint.
"N-nothing-" I stuttered stepping backwards. I tripped over my own feet and stubbled back landing on my backside, hood falling off of my head. No!
I looked up at the tall man, his expression had shifted from one of hostility to something akin to sorrow. He turned his body to face me and crouched down.
"Sorry about that, I get a little carried away sometimes, my name is Wilbur." The tall guy said, offering a hand to me. I took it and he pulled me back to my feet.
"My names Fundy," I said to the man who I now know as Wilbur. He shook our still connected hands and smiled at me. He had a very pleasant smile it was the complete opposite of the glare he was giving earlier.
"Nice to meet you Fundy I would like to ask you a few questions, if that's alright." Wilbur said and my stomach chose that exact moment to grumble. He raised an eyebrow.
"If you're hungry we can get something to eat while we talk." He added and I nodded. He started walking in the opposite direction towards a nearby restaurant and I followed. This is one of the most stupid things I've ever done but hey free food.
We walked into the restaurant, got a table and sat down. I sat across from him studying his movements carefully, he seemed to notice and chuckled a bit. We both ordered as the waitress came over to us, he got some sort of semi-expensive potato dish chuckling as he did and I got a plate of fish and chips.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" I asked him, he rested his head on his hands which were folded in front of him. He hummed looking off to the left a little then closing his eyes, he sighed.
