Chapter 8 - "New business in town"

When we got out of the car, we went inside the restaurant and saw a waiter looking at us. "Leave this restaurant now, we don't want the gay sickness in here or we might have to close. I am not gonna repeat myself again. Leave this building." Avery, Ag, and I were almost outside the restaurant when our mums held our hand so we were stuck.

"There is no way that in 2021 we have to leave a restaurant because you don't agree with our relationship. If you kick us out, I would love to speak with your boss or the manager. I don't really care who it is." He went to the back threw a door that wouldn't be visible if he didn't walkthrough. A door, so fragile but yet so steady due to its wooden texture.

Then a short, old man came through this magical door I've been staring at for so long. He got dragged outside by the waiter who declined our walkthrough. The old man smiled at us sadly and he looked really tired as if he could fall asleep right now. His hair put together under his small beanie that just covered half of his ears. "Good day, what can I do for this lovely family?"

Mum smiled at him and greeted him with a nice welcoming handshake. "Hi my name is Jess Quaine, this is my girlfriend Onvia McDaniel and my beautiful daughters, Avery, Ag, and Lucy. As we just walked in here, this lovely waiter told us to go outside because he doesn't want his guests to catch the very serious and contagious sickness called homosexuality or bisexuality or whatever you can put in terms with LGBTQ+. If this is really so bad for your restaurant, I would like to make an offer."

The old man looked very shocked. "I am sorry, it's just I don't have the energy to control all my workers here." That's when a lovely lady, also a waitress, came to us. "I am sorry, Billy you should go back to the office, I am sure we can handle the situation."

That's when my momma told them to be quiet. "I would love to buy the restaurant for 16.000 dollars." The waiters and Billy, the boss, looked shocked. Billy agreed and our mums got to the office to do the paperwork while Avery said to the homophobic waiter: "Please take off your apron and don't come back until you can respect everyone." He did that and we all giggled while we turned towards the nice lady. "How about you sit with my daughter and I tell the chef to make you something since this restaurant now also belongs to you kinda." We followed her to a small table in the back where a young girl sat. I remember her from my comment section. She always left such nice comments and then I remembered I kinda stopped social media for some time.

When her mum told her she had company, she looked up, saw me, and started tearing up. "No no, please don't cry darling. Come here and give me a  biggg hug. I don't like making my fans cry." She nodded and came towards me to hug me before I pulled her into a big hug and kissed her on her head. I enjoyed the moment and looked at Ag who made a lottt of pictures of us. She sent over 200 pictures to me from every possible angle and sent a little message afterward:

I blushed so hard that I felt like I was dying from embarrassment which would have been very helpful in the following situation. Just as I locked my phone, I heard my mum behind me gasping. "Lucy Maria Quaine, I did not raise you this way." I turned around and saw my mum really frustrated while momma was laughing and high fiving Ag. Jesus, Italian mums are overreacting.
