Chapter 2 "Being homosexual is cool with lesbians around"

Lucy Pov:

After hearing the boys talking bad about me I ran to the next bathroom and broke down. I was used to homophobic comments but it still hurt a lot. Suddenly I heard footsteps towards my way and I washed away my tears.

The door slowly opened and a similar head looked at me. She smiled at me and sat down next to me. "I heard those people, we all did but these people are not worth your tears or even one sad smile. Fuck them. They haven't even talked to you for one sentence. It's your life and you shouldn't live it instructed of people who can talk loud but can't take critic to themselves."

I laid my head on her shoulder while she hugged me tightly. "Thank you, I really needed this. You are an amazing person who can talk enormously big." She smiled at me. "Now tell me why this got you so emotional cause I know the fact what they said didn't bother you as  you are used to the hate because of the internet."

I looked down instantly and fiddled with my fingers. "Well, I come from a small village where literally everyone was homophobic, I mean the whole country, Italy, is homophobic but the only one who ever accepted me was my mum. She never judged me an immediately searched for a job in a more welcoming city or country. I was bullied a lot for a long time and not only for being gay. I just wanted to take this chance as a gift and make some changes. But here we are, in a bathroom, me crying because the same thing happened again."

Suddenly the door opened again and a lot of heads peeped in. "You two okay? We need to get to class." Ag looked at them. "We will come a tad later. Just tell Mrs Goodwin that we had an emergency, we will tell her afterwards why we are late." They nodded and left the room again.

I didn't understand why she didn't just leave for class with me. "Ag, why are we staying here? We really should go-" She put a finger to my mouth. "You are really cute when you talk but obviously you need some cuddles and head kisses. Plus she will understand when we talk to her after class. Just for information, I won't let you sit on your own. You will have to make friends with my lap." She winked at me while I blushed so hard that I thought it was permanent. 

We cuddled for ten minutes and then we left for class. Holding hands was such a sweet gesture of her showing me that she was there for me. We opened the door to the classroom. While students were looking at us, the lesbians smiled at us and screamed "here we go lesbians" and our teacher smiled widely at us. We sat down quickly to not interrupt the class. Just a reminder, Ag might have great grades but she definitely loves to whisper gay things in class.

After class ended Mrs Goodwin asked us lesbians to stay in our seats. "Okay, Ag, Lucy, you are not in trouble at all. I will say you were in class and I will give you all a pass for the next lesson. So as I let you off, I want to know what exactly happened because I just barely saw you leaving break." I look at Ag and she held my hand tightly. "Okay, so there were people calling Lucy names and stuff. She just really needed an ear and some cuddles. She has been through a lot and I think she needed someone who can relate to it. Well, only most of it." She kissed my cheek and we looked back at Mrs Goodwin.

"Lucy, I am sorry to hear all that. This is why I want to give you this key and introduce you to a team called Lesbian Squad. It is a room and a safe space for teachers and students who are lesbians. We mostly talk about our relationships, ask for advice on certain topics. We always have a stack of girly things for emergencies like pads, nail clippers and some fresh pairs of jeans and hoodies. You can always enter the room if you need a space for yourself or for sleeping. The team is built by my wife and myself. She is a teacher in this school as well, so we tried to make a space for everyone. As you have the most followers on Tiktok at the moment, you will be crowned Lesbian of the month."

I smiled at her. "Thank you so much honestly. It makes me feel like home here. I finally came home to a place where I found people who love me and who want the best for me." I almost started crying as it was so overwhelming. I felt a hand around my waist and I started to relax instantly. I didn't know what it was about her but she just made me feel safe.
