"You know Ji, I still can't believe you did that."
"Yeah girl, that was pretty intense. Me and Yang Yang were watching you from the control room alongside Jeno and holy shit, I'm amazed."
"Just like his dick."
"Hey!"
"Ok, cut it out guys, it wasn't that big of a deal, I just had fun, you know?" The joking atmosphere turned to a pitiful one; the boys frowned. "Plus, I managed to get new ammo and guns, so be thankful. You know how scarce they are," Jieun said with a dismissive smile while tossing her backpack filled with new equipment onto the wall next to her, kicking her shoes off and leaning against one of the boys for support. Jaehyun held her arm, analyzing her skin for any injuries, his gaze landed on her uncovered legs, "you know, a shower would do you good, we still have warm water in the reserve for at least thirty minutes more," he gave her a soft smile. "And while you're at it, scrub off any dirt for me yeah? You stink woman." Jeno, who was standing by the staircase with his arms crossed, laughed. "Alright, alright, I'll leave you two to it then," Jieun looked at both of them, "thanks." "No problem Ji, now get going," Jeno grinned at her as she made her way up the stairs and to the bathroom.
Once the bathroom door clicked, the boys let out a breath that they didn't know they were holding. Jaehyun got the backpack from the ground and slunged it over his right shoulder as he accompanied Jeno to get a glass of water from the kitchen. "That was something," the younger one said, eyeing the older, still processing the information. "Indeed it was," Jeno opened the cabinet and got out a glass. "I saw you eyeing her once she got in, noticed anything strange?" He opened the fridge and got out the jar filled with liquid, pouring it up to the brim and returning it to where it was. Jaehyun, who had been standing by the kitchen counter for the time being, responded, "nah bro, just saw some dirt," he stared blankly at the sink in front of him, "and some blood specs on her legs and cheeks." Jeno froze for a second, glass in hand, and sighed. "Do you think she'll ever come back?" He brought the liquid to his lips and gulped down a bit of the contents, both of the men started walking towards the hallway. "At this rate, with all the missions and with everything that's going on, very hard to believe that," Jeahyun spoke with a sad demeanor. "She's the one that's hardest to heal, and we've known this from the very beginning, it's just that we didn't want to accept it until we actually had to face it."
The older started walking down the stairs to reach the basement, "Plus, I don't know if you've noticed but, her nightmares are getting worse," Jeno shot him a look, "Of course I've noticed you fucking idiot." The younger jumped on the second to last step and landed with a thud, he walked up to the metallic door and inserted a combination of numbers into the control panel next to it. A green light was emitted. "She's the only thing I care about-" "shE's thE OnlY thINg I caRe aBoUT, yeah yeah, I know Jeno," Jaehyun mocked, tossing around his hands. The door pulled apart in two, allowing them to get inside the new room.
The walls were decorated with shelves, the ones closer to the entrance contained go-to equipment such as flashlights, duck tape, small first aid kits, fighting gloves- you name it. Whereas the ones located deeper into the container like room were stacked with binders and folders, documents and reports that were stolen, printed out illegally, or just made by the team. Some shelves had the honor of holding old plates with crumbs or even mugs with bland coffee or ungassed soda. The flooring was plain concrete with some medium sized rugs scattered around the area and the ceiling was basically the same just except the textiles. Black simplistic laps hanged from the place, probably with one meter of separation between the objects, however, the white light released from them was potent.
Jaehyun walked rather quickly to the main table that was at the centre of the room, tossing over the backpack he was carrying. Jeno, matching his pace, pulled close a chair and sat on it, leaning his chest on the back of it and having his legs strandle the object, crossing his arms and having them rest on the top of the chair. His chin lazed on top of one of his arms and observed Jaehyun as he unzipped the backpack in front of him. The older man opened the main compartment of the bag, revealing a freshly painted AK47 that laid on the smaller end of the design. Jaehyun whistled, "that woman, she's gonna be the death of me some day," "I know right?," Jeno chuckled. The older setted aside the gun and moved forward with the rest of the contents; some handcuffs, walkie talkies, wallets, basic pistols that were probably filled with new bullets, a folder with some papers in it and a dash cam that looked kind of wrecked. "Seems like a pretty good trade," Jaehyun commented, Jeno nodded. "I'll be giving this to Yang then," the younger got up from his seat and helped his partner put everything back into the bag, "however, I will keep the pistols, the dash cam and the AK47 for now, they look clean but you never know," Jeno warned.
"Fine by me."
