A Sort-of Theory About April and Her Family!

Hey Cheesecicles, I'm back! Soooo idk what to call this, I'm just gonna talk, okie? So get comfortable! This is gonna be long!

So, we know that April is half human, half Kraang-alien and that her mom was kidnapped and turned into a half Kraang-alien, half human as well.

But there's something I noticed...

April got all her features from her father Kirby! The red hair, the blue eyes, intelligence, etc. And she didn't get any features from her mother!

Neither of her parents have freckles!

Or...maybe Kirby does! It's hard to tell with the the beard, maybe he has freckles under there! XDXD

But...

If you look at a picture of April's mom, you see she has no freckles...Kirby doesn't either unless his beard is hiding them XD

And I couldn't find any pics of him without the beard so IDK!

Also...

April's mom had blonde hair and green eyes and looks nothing like April! And no, I'm not implying that someone cheated, I'm just saying!

We know that April got her powers from her mom, though! So April is more like her father on the outside and more like her mom on the inside!

But I have a theory! The reason April looks so much like her father could be because in the beginning, the creators of the show didn't plan on showing April's mom...or, the mom thing until a later episode!

And, in seasons one and two, it made it obvious that April's mother wasn't in the show as a major character. Therefore, they made April look like her father to avoid confusion.

Think about what the viewers would think if April had blonde hair and green eyes....

I also think they made April and her father look alike so that in the first episode, when the pair got kidnapped, the viewers would know that they were related.

Also...something I noticed!

April and Kirby are very similar. Both are highly overprotective over each other and show hostility and, in some cases, anger when the other is threatened or in dire condition!

For example:

In the episode 'The Deadly venom', Kirby was understandably worried about his daughter which was shown when April wasn't getting better right away. He snapped at Donnie:

"She isn't getting any better! I brought her here because I thought you could save her...there is no other problem, April is the only thing you two should be worrying about!"

Now, there is reason behind his actions! April is all he has left. His wife was taken and killed, so he is naturally very overprotective of April.  Even as a mutant bat, Kirby was overprotective of her and tried bringing her food.

That's just sweet!

And when Kirby was being held captive by the Kraang, he sent a secret message to the turtles, telling them to keep April safe. He truly cares about her and protecting her has become an obsession to him.

Now for April...

When Kirby became mutated the first time, April blew up at the turtles, understandably upset.

"Don't touch me, you mutated my father! I never want to see your faces again!"

Kirby was all April had after her mother dissapeared, so I imagine April was feeling very lost, thinking her father would never get back....

In conclusion, April and her father are very similar and even though April got no physical features from her mother, she has her mom's powers which are a part of her mom.

Both father and daughter appear to revert to anger and hostility and overreact when the other is threatened or in immediate danger!
