Adelle's POV

I looked at my family and they stared at me. I scoffed, "Okay. Its not like I haven't dropped by like this before." I said.

Uncle Elijah nodded, "Yes but never did you bring anyone else, other than Thea." He said. My eyes kept glancing at dad, his dead body kept flashing in my head and my heart faltered each time. I tried to keep my composure but it just flashed in my head multiple times that I had to shake my head. I breathed in and out trying to control myself but it was still there. Aunt Freya seemed to notice. "How about we talk about this tomorrow. We'll leave Kol and Elle alone." She said with an understanding look on her face.

I smiled at her and she nodded at me. Mom walked to me and hugged me, "I'll check on your girls." She said. I nodded, "Thanks mom but please be quiet, they've been through enough and they need the rest." I said she nodded and kissed my forehead as she walked away.

I stood there watching my family disperse, either out or around the house. I heard my dad cough. I turned and I felt my heart break when I saw him and a flash of his body dead on the floor was seen. I had to shake my head again and I gulped trying not to breakdown. There was no time to breakdown, not when a war was waging and the success was in our hands.

"Elle. What's wrong?" he asked. I shook my head as my mind betrayed me. It was like my mind wanted me to breakdown, it instilled the body of my dead father, an Original vampire, dead because of me in my head. I felt the tears fall down my face. "I saw you. You were gone." I cried. My hands shaking at the fear of losing him. Not again, I don't want to lose him again.

He furrowed his eyebrows and walked to me. "What are you talking about Elle?" he asked concerned. "You were dead dad." I whispered as more tears fell from my eyes.

He looked at me in shock, "You were on the floor and you were dead." I cried. He rushed to me and pulled me into a hug.

"I'm right here." He muttered. I shook my head, "Dad. That was the future. I'll have to make a choice and its between you and someone else and you were dead. You're gonna die, because of me." I said. Shaking my head, refusing to believe that that was our future. That I have to take dad away from mom again. That I have to see him die all over again. "I chose someone else than my own father. The person who taught me everything I love about myself. I made you leave mom all over again and I-" my words turned into sobs as I gripped his shirt not wanting to let go.

He shook his head, "Nothing can kill us darling. You know that." He said trying to reassure me. I shook my head, "But dad, you were there and you weren't breathing. Your heart didn't beat." I said as I looked up at him.

He caressed my face, "Whatever the future holds, you know we always have a fail safe." He said as he stared at my eyes. He was trying to tell me something, as a kid when I shifted he told me about this fail safe. That after everything went down with our family and we were finally all together he had given it to each of our family members, a fail safe just in case.

I gulped and nodded, he sent me a smile, "I'll never leave you or your mother, ever. Not again." he said with a promise in his eyes. I nodded and smiled. "Okay." I said.

He kissed my forehead and we stayed there, just talking about life.

I walked to my old room the next morning. I peeked in and saw the girls fast asleep. I sighed and smiled.

Walking down the stairs I immediately was greeted by Aunt Rebekah's nagging Marcel and Hayley.
