Last Life

Tommy slid to his knees, threw his head back, and screamed.

It lasted all of two seconds. Tommy looked down at his hands, tears rolling down his face. He just gotten his dad back, and now he was gone. Everything was gone.

Suddenly a heavy weight was put on his shoulders. He looked up to see Techno clipping his gown around Tommy's neck. Techno straightened, clearing his throat. "I'm sorry, for everything. For judging you."

Techno swallowed before quickly shuffling away. Tommy fiddled with the gold clasp, exhaling quickly. A hand was extended to him. Tommy blindly took it, who cared? Tommy stood up, it was Tubbo who helped him up, helped him up just as Sapnap walked over. Tommy raised an eyebrow at him. Sapnap sighed, taking off his bandana.

His hair fell into his face, but he didn't care. He tied the bandana around Tommy's head. "There." Sapnap smiled. "I'm sorry, Tommy." Sapnap sniffed, it looked as if he was crying too. Why? Schlatt wasn't his father.

Sapnap exhaled before hugging Tommy. "He was a great dad. Trust me." Tommy didn't know why he should trust Sapnap on this, he wasn't Schlatt's son, but he did. Sapnap stepped back, smiled, then left.

Soon Fundy walked up, gave Tommy his hat. Then Ponk with a lemon. Quackity with his apron. Punz with his shield. Even Dream walked up and gave Tommy his axe. He smiled at the expressionless stare Tommy gave back before shuffling away.

Tubbo stepped towards Tommy, planting a flower in his hair. By this point everyone had stopped by and given Tommy something, everyone except Phil. Tommy gripped Dream's axe with anger.

Everyone even made Tommy his own personal room under a cliff, vines covering the entrance. A giant bed lay in the middle. Tommy sat in the bed, all of the gifts covering him. His expression was still unreadable, and he hadn't said a thing. Tubbo left the room with a feeling of unease.

Not soon after he left, Niki and Bad walked in. They held muffins and cake respectively. They set the plates in the bed stand. Bad left quickly, but Niki lagged behind. She stared at Tommy for a bit, but quickly left.

Tommy looked at the treats, then back at the stone ceiling. He sighed.

"I wish I was eating a box of chocolate chip cookies behind the sofa."

It had been at least a week and Tommy stil hadn't gotten up from that bed. People visited him often, but he'd never talk back. Tubbo and Niki seemed to be his most frequent. Phil was the least frequent. Even Dream came more than he did.

Tubbo was mainly focused on fixing up L'manberg, he couldn't just leave it in shambles. And over time Ranboo, Captain Puffy, and Connor joined the Smp. Tubbo took it as his responsibility to show them all around.

Tubbo was a little confused about Puffy's reaction when he told her Schlatt had died. She seemed shocked, but also confused. She also said she was unbelievably cold. Tubbo didn't know why.

Tubbo remembered the day when everything changed. He was sitting in the middle of the L'manberg debris with Ranboo and Puffy. He was teaching Ranboo how to knit while Puffy cleaned. Then...

Schlatt shot up from a soft cot. He looked around. He was in a small cozy hut that was covered in warm lights and blankets. Something was brewing on the stove. Schlatt only noticed he was sleeping under stairs when someone started walking down them.

Schlatt was surprised to see Phil turn the corner. Phil noticed Schlatt immediately, almost as if he looked over everytime he came downstairs. Phil widened his eyes. "You're awake, you're alive."

Schlatt looked around, confused. "What? Phil? What's happened? Shouldn't I be dead?" Phil stepped forward carefully. "They were having a funeral, but I healed you. I saved you." Phil looked down at his hands in wonder.

Schlatt tried to rack his brain about what happened. All he could remember was a van, Techno maybe, withers, L'manberg, and... Schlatt gasped. "Tommy!"

Schlatt jumped out of bed, running up the stairs. He heard Phil call after him. "Wait, give yourself time to heal!" Schlatt ran through the cozy house, almost running into Techno in the living room. Techno was surprised to say the least.

"Schlatt!?"

Schlatt smiled slightly. He burst through the front door, stopping for only a moment to determine his sense of direction. Then ran towards L'manberg.

Niki looked up to the sound of heavy footsteps. She gasped as Schlatt ran towards her. She ran back at him, catching him in a hug. "Schlatt! Oh my god, I thought you were dead!"

Schlatt hugged her back, for no reason at all it seemed. Niki breathed in his scent, soup and cozy wax melts. Niki smiled, tears rolling down her face. He was back.

Schlatt ended the hug, quickly wiping away Niki's tears with a hoof finger. He smiled at her, but quickly became serious. "Where's Tommy?" Niki grabbed his hand. "Come with me."

Tubbo looped the thread through the hole, catching it on the other side. Next to him Ranboo laughed. "You're good at this." Tubbo shrugged. "My mom taught me." Suddenly Ranboo looked up.

Tubbo furrowed his eyebrows, but followed his gaze. Be was shocked to see the thought to be dead dad and Niki, booking it across the field towards them.

Tubbo jumped up, running to them. He met Schlatt in the middle, hugging him tightly. Schlatt ended it quickly, but smiled warmly at Tubbo.

Niki spoke up. "Tommy's still in his room?" Tubbo nodded. Niki tightened her grip on Schlatt's hand before leading him to Tommy's room. Tubbo watched in shock as Phil and Techno started running towards him.

Tommy stared at the ceiling, his head empty. Suddenly he heard harsh footsteps. He looked up, confused. Someone burst into his room, panting. It took Tommy a few seconds to decipher who it was, but when he figured it out...

Tommy leaped out of the mountain of gifts he was under, running towards his father. Schlatt picked Tommy up in his arms, laughing. Tommy hugged him, sobbing.

After a few minutes Schlatt let him down, Tommy continued hugging him anyway. Tommy looked up at him. "Wait, how?" "Magic." Schlatt and Tommy looked up to see Phil, Tubbo, Techno, Ranboo, and Puffy enter.

Phil grinned. Schlatt smiled at him. "Thanks Phil." Phil nodded with a smiled. "Just doing my job." Tommy smiled at Phil weirdly. No wonder he didn't give Tommy anything. He had a bigger gift in mind. And that gift stood in front of Tommy right now, alive.

Tommy looked up at Schlatt. "Finally, I can show you all the things you've missed!" Schlatt laughed. "Okay, Tommy."

Tommy grabbed Schlatt's hand, leading him out of the room, Techno's gown still hanging from his shoulders. "So first if we go over here we have..." Schlatt laughed, following his son as he showed him around. This was how things should be. Things were finally perfect again.
