The TARDIS landed, quite hard in the outers of London, the Doctor in his infamous converse and trench coat, poked his head round the door. A tall man with dark hair was blocking his view.

"Sherlock?! Is that you?!" The Doctor yelled

"Who else?" He replied as he smiled at his lanky friend

The Doctor closed the door behind him, as he ran to Sherlock, who was also wearing his usual attire.

They both shook hands aggressively, both with gappy grins.

"I was just talking to you!" Sherlock said rather smugly.

"Oh yeah?" The Doctor asked

"Well your future self, anyway..." Sherlock trailed off "He's got a real good chin on him... Enough to break glass I'd say" he laughed

"I doubt its got anything on these babies..." The Doctor said pointing to his sideburns. Laughing slightly himself.

"You'd be surprised..." Sherlock murmured. "Anyway! How are you old man?!"

"Good thanks, Rose is keeping me well..."

The smile slightly faded on Sherlock's face as Rose's name was bought into conversation.

"What?" The Doctor asked absent mindedly "I don't know what I'd do without her!"

Sherlock mumbled some inaudible words as all he could muster to say to the Doctor was "Mmm hmm"

The Doctor hit himself on the forehead and exclaimed: "OH BUGGER! Rose is still in the TARDIS!"

Sherlock laughed to himself as the Doctor pushed the door open, he heard a squeak.

The Doctor realised he'd hit Rose who was on the other side of the door.

"Oh time lords of Gallifrey! I'm so sorry Rose!" He crouched down and helped her up. Her face was badly hit but she was laughing in hysterics.

"Ow! Looks painful!" He said as he set her down on the control room chair wrapping his trench coat around her like a blanket.

"S'ok Doctor" She murmerd as he pointed his sonic at her, fixing what looked like a broken nose.

"Now wait there Rose... I'm just catching up with an old friend of mine" the Doctor said

"Okay Doc" Rose stuttered as she kissed his cheek.

The Doctor left the TARDIS again and was greeted with a huge smirk from Sherlock.

"What?" He asked

"Nothing..." Sherlock laughed "Its not like you're blushing or anything..."

The Doctor's hands immediately flew up to his cheeks "Oh bugger!" He exclaimed

"And, why's that, Doc?" Sherlock asked mockingly. "Does it have anything to do with a pink and yellow human?"

The Doctor turned a deeper shade of red and stared at the ground and scratched his neck and shuffled his feet awkwardly. He mumbled "No...". Obviously lying to Sherlock and himself.

He stared back up at Sherlock who was laughing really hard now. "Doctor there's no point lying. I'm a detective for God's sake!"

"You love her really..." Sherlock said

The Doctor kicked the wall shyly. Looked down then back up extremely quickly. Then crossed his legs.

"Well I was gonna argue Mr. Holmes but--"

"The 'evidence' says otherwise" Sherlock interupted rather smugly.

The Doctor grinned shyly, obviously nervous.

"I can't begin to imagine what your wife would say Doctor!" Sherlock shrugged.

"WHAT?!" The Doctor yelled

Sherlock hushed him, and mimed "she'll hear you".

"Well I'm sorry old pal," The Doctor began "but I must be off"

They shook hands again but during which Sherlock asked: "Promise me something?"

"Shoot" the Doctor replied

"You'll tell her..." Sherlock continued "You know how you feel..."

"Okay..."

The Doctor never did manage to tell Rose his feelings, but Rose always knew. For the Doctor accidently left the TARDIS door open that day he spoke to Sherlock Holmes. Rose never told him she heard. But he did get the response he wanted from her, even if it was their last goodbye. And that's what kept the both of them fighting for good.
