(Picture is James :D)
"I'm home!" Exclaimed Jim as he walked through the door.
"Hey Jim." I said warmly.
"Hello Honey, welcome home!" My mom said as she hugged him. Eugh. Gross.
Now I know that sounded like something a five year old who is afraid of cooties would say, but It's weird seeing your birth giver hugging and kissing someone who isn't really your father. Anyone else feel that way? Yeah, you know who you are. You're my homie. Anyways. Back to my life.
"So, how was your day, James?" Jim asked.
"It was okay, I guess. There's this new kid at school, and he's pretty much a happy go lucky kind of guy. He wants to be friends but I don't." I replied and took in a deep breath, and sighed.
"Well that sounds like something that I only have one quote for; Never judge a book by its cover" Jim said in a matter-a-fact voice.
"Yeah. I'll try, but if it doesn't work out, I'll just avoid him. Everywhere."
"Even class?"
Even class, Jim."
"Well okay then, James. You have fun with that." Jim said as he took off his boots and sat on the couch, changing my channel. That kinda made me upset. But it was fine, I wasn't watching anyway.
I nearly had a heart attack when I heard my phone go off in my pocket. It was Bri.
Bri: Get over here right now, Jameson.
James: For what reason?
Bri: Just get over here.
James: Okie Dokie, Artichokie.
I put my shoes back on and ran out the door yelling "I'll be back later! Going to Bri's!" They just nodded their heads as they understood.
I didn't even have to knock on the door. Bri was waiting there at the door for me. She opened it and I ran straight in, and into a wall.
"Alright, my room." She said as she ran up the stairs to her room.
I followed, avoiding her three cats on the way up. I am terribly allergic to cat hair. Anyone else? Yeah, you're my homie, too.
When we got there, I was surprised to what I saw.
A giant purple portal in the side of her room.
I hadn't noticed the look of total terror on Bri's face up until now, and I had the same face as well.
"What is this thing?!" I exclaimed.
"Shhh! My parents don't know about this, and I don't want to bring them into it either! I only trust you." Bri replied in a whisper.
"Okay, then what should we do? Go in it?" I asked, terrified.
"I guess, I mean, I don't know!" Bri managed to stutter out of her mouth.
"Alright. You hold me, and I'll look into it." I said, trying to be brave.
"Got it." Bri replied as she took a hold of my arm tightly.
As I leaned in, I was blinded by a bright light. When my eyes adjusted to the light, I saw... Duncan?!

Duncan

Do all American houses have giant purple portals in the attic? What a silly thing to put in an attic. As I tried to move the portal, I was sucked in and now falling into a bright light.
I hit the ground with a thump. It was warm, with no snow. America sure is strange. With its portals, and it's changing climates. Oh hey! It's James!
"Hi James!"

One second, I'm still reeling.
Just a little bit longer
And...
"What are you doing here, Duncan? How'd you get here?! Are you from space?" I screamed.
"James! Is it safe to come in?" Bri asked.
"I think so." I replied, shaking from shock.
Bri let me go and I jumped in to the realm of which I didn't know yet. I was followed by Bri.
After that, something I didn't see coming happened. The portals closed.
Today has been filled with things I didn't expect to happen.
"So, do all American houses have portals?" Asked the doofus named Duncan.
"No. This is not a normal thing. Not in the slightest." Bri replied.
"Oh. Then why are we here?" Duncan asked quietly, running his fingers through his hair.
"What makes you think we have any clue?" Bri replied quite loudly.
"HEY! KEEP IT DOWN YA UNGRATEFUL LITTLE BRATS! CAN'T A TROLL SLEEP IN THIS PLACE?!" An unknown, high pitched voice screeched.
We all turned around to see a small cottage. And by small, I mean the size of a table.
