This short piece takes place the morning after Next of Kin ends. Unlike the rest of the short pieces, it is not a prequel. This one is set in the current day and gives us a snippet of what's happening in modern times. #WattPride

Aspen Fair is the smart, sweet, cute girl that likes to sit in the middle of the classroom. She doesn't stand out like the populars or the nerds or the outcasts. She is just a girl who attends school most days and tries to keep her nose in her own business. This seems to work for 16 years of her life. Then everything changes. On her 17th birthday, things start to happen. Bad things. First, it starts out small. The birthday cake is chocolate instead of vanilla, her dog puked on her shoes, and she has an allergic reaction to flowers her mother got to put on the tables. Small things. Then, bigger things happen. Her brother slips on some random icing on the floor and hits his head on the table so hard that it starts to bleed. Aspen's best friend's mother dies. And the epitome of all bad things... Aspen's father is diagnosed with blood cancer or Leukemia. Aspen has no clue what is happening but for some reason she gets the gut feeling it's her fault. Her mother seems to know what's up but won't talk. She instead insists that Aspen takes a much needed vacation. Aspen hesitantly agrees after talking to her father, and her mother ships her to her Aunt Maple's house. Only problem... Aunt Maple is crazy. Also the neighbor boy. And doughnuts.

A 14 girl named Ebony is a liar. Thoughout her life she gets bullied and falls for the wrong boy. She lives with her father. Will she make it through high school or fall out?

It's "National Doughnut Day", but Lena doesn't want her free doughnut. She gives it to the person behind her in line. Here's the story of that meeting and the consequences.

Willow Mayron and her best friends Dominique Dubois and Zoe List, along with Tom Daniels and Graham Mitchell, all play a game called Doughnuts or Do Not's. A game involving deep, dark secrets and a few packets of doughnuts. But when one of Willows darkest secrets gets out, she can't figure out which one of her friends would tell the cool girls, gossip and rumour spreading being their speciality. Facing school is becoming harder than ever and in the end, friendships will tear, but at least Willow now knows who not to trust when dealing with Doughnuts or Do Not's.
