You lazed on your desk, your oversized hoodie kept you closed off from the world and that was exactly how you liked it. Being a third year, everyone was worried about college, graduation, and careers, but you hadn't given it much thought. You often heard others talking nearby about scholarships and other excited things for the future, but you found yourself disinterested these days.

When lunch was called, you skipped out on the food and went straight for a walk in the courtyard. It was a moderate feeling day, more sunshine than you would've liked, but it was better than sitting in a stuffy, overcrowded cafeteria. You took your phone out to see a text from your mom, asking about college admissions. You used both hands to unlock your phone and when you did.

SMACK!

You had been forced several steps back after colliding with something...or someone.

"I'm very sorry about that, I was not looking at where I was going," the figure said.

You quickly shoved your phone in your pocket and looked up at the figure that you had forcefully collided with. It was a boy with gray hair with a warm smile on his face, carrying what you assumed to be his lunch and on the way to the cafeteria.

"Do you need first aid or anything?" He questioned, concerned that you took awhile to answer.

"No I'm fine, thank you," you crossed your arm around your chest and grabbed your other arm awkwardly, giving a slight, but fake smile.

"I'm Sugawara Koushi," he bowed to you respectfully. You gave a small confused look, considering you recognized the boy, but had actually never met him. You assumed he thought you were just a first or second year. "Where are you heading?" He added.

"I'm just trying to kill time until lunch is over." You pointed to the trails around the courtyard.

"You're not eating lunch?" He quickly asked, showing off his caring nature. You shook your head and pointed in the direction of the cafeteria, "it's just a little too crowded in there for me," you gave a half-smile and shrugged, ready for this conversation to be over. You knew you probably would not talk to him again so what's the use in talking to him now?

"It does feel nice out here." He looked up at the sky then back down to you, "would you like me to eat lunch with you out here?" He hinted at the bento box he carried in his hand.

You quickly put your hands up in front of you, "I couldn't ask you to do that. Surely you have others waiting on you in there," you looked down at the ground.

"Really, I don't mind. I like it better out here anyways," he replied. Can he seriously not take a hint?

You finally gave in and nodded. "Okay, if you insist." You began to walk, setting your sights on a nearby bench, away from other groups of people. He walked beside you, smiling, occasionally waving or saying hi to others he knew, most of which seemed to be athletic guys. Was he an athlete? You realized you really didn't know much about your classmates or the teams that the school had. You both reached the bench and you proceeded to pull out a small smushed protein bar from your book-bag. He gave a confused look. "Is that all you're having?" He asked. Is he going to critique everything I do?

"Yeah, I'm not really in the mood to eat." You shrugged and finished your protein bar while he was halfway finished with his bento box. "I know this may be weird, but you can have the rest of you want it. It's basically just leftovers from my moms cooking last night, but she cooks really good!" He offered the box in your direction. Your eyes gleamed as you looked down at the box, filled with delicious looking food, but it didn't feel right taking this person's lunch.

He could sense your hesitation and handed you the box, smiling, "I swear, I'm done with it, and I promise it's really good!" He gave a cheeky smile. You blushed a little, the thought of someone giving your their lunch was a little...heartwarming. You finished his leftovers and gave the box back to the smiling boy.

"It's getting pretty hot out here. I'm sure you're getting hot wearing that sweatshirt and long pants." You looked down at your clothes compared to his. He was in a basic white tee shirt and blue shorts that stopped at his knees with tennis shoes. You glanced at his calves, which were pretty toned. You figured he must have definitely been an athlete, but you felt bad asking, especially since you were in the same year he was and you knew absolutely nothing about him. He leaned over, snapping you out of your trance and stared into your eyes, "I bet you'd look cute in a dress." You blushed almost immediately, unsure of what to say. You wanted to leave. Why would he say something like that? It made you all the more uncomfortable, but you also felt your heart speed up with his comment. "T-thank you.." you managed.

You heard the bell ring in the distance and went to throw away your trash from the protein bar. He was standing up once you got back, throwing his belongings over his shoulder and smiled. "Thank you for letting me eat lunch with you," he said. You nodded and hummed, as if to say 'you're welcome.'

He bowed to you once again and took your hand, lifting it up to his face, kissing it gently. "I'll see you in class, L/N F/N." Your eyes widened as he released your hand and gave you one last smile before walking back towards the academic buildings. Holy shit..

Your body felt like it was on fire. Why did he do that? You rushed to the bathroom before class and wet a paper towel, rubbing it on your face and forehead. You threw it away and gripped the side of the sink, sighing and looking at yourself in the mirror, trying to remember your conversation and then it hit you. "Oh my god..."

You had never even told him your name.
