Caleb took her hand and watched as she turned bright red "Do you know the whole situation with my mom?" Sabrina began to look saddened "Yea, my mom told me. I'm sorry" Caleb chuckled "It's ok. I honestly sat in the park today thinking about how I would rather have my own kids than a brother and how I could be a hella good dad. Then I started thinking too much about you." Sabrina turned her head to the side "Then why not have your own? I honestly have had a crush on you for the longest and I've seen you with the younger kids on the block. You're great with kids." Caleb turned bright red "Uhm, I mean we're only 15, and those kids are like my siblings. And wouldn't your dad kill me?"
Sabrina began to laugh "Nah, he's been trying to get me out of his house any way he can. And I know if it did happen, Chris would make sure you had money." Caleb contemplated the thought of having a baby with Sabrina, how it could turn his life in a totally different direction. "What about school?" Sabrina raised her eyebrow "2 of my sisters finished school after having kids, can't be that hard. Come on, let's go and find somewhere private to talk."
Caleb paid the bill and the 2 walked to the same park where they met. "Caleb, I know this is sudden. But, girls only have a couple days a month where it can happen." The officers all looked at each other. The one looked at Caleb and seemed pissed "You know good and well you got a whole house with your mom." One of the other officers punched him in the arm and whispered "Shut up, asshole". He smiled "Caleb, forgive him. Just stay safe. You got protection?" Caleb pulled out his knife "Never leave home without it." The 3 officers departed and Caleb continued to the park where he fell asleep on one of the benches.
The next month and a half seemed to drag on for ages, his mom ended up in rehab after she got out of the hospital and was going to jail after that because she had drugs in her purse when she went to the hospital, so he was staying with his aunt. Derek's sister threw everything from the basement on the curb and changed the locks, so Ryan and Marcell went to stay with their father across town and Jamal shared a room with Caleb at their aunt's house. Caleb sat straight up and started getting dressed "You safe, Sabrina?" "Yea, I'm ok. Just come over." "Alright, on my way. I love you"
Caleb's aunt was already awake watching her soaps on TV. "Where you headed, nephew?" "Oh, good morning auntie. Sabrina needed me to come over." His aunt looked at him like he was somewhat stupid "8 am on Saturday? You've been over a lot." "Yea, she's been really sick. I think she just wants company while her sister's at work." His aunt nodded, but she already knew what was happening. "Ok, baby. Be safe."
